I haven't really painted a lot of my VC since I haven't had a chance to focus on them in 7th edition with my High Elves, mostly played VC in 6th. Here is one of my Vampires, converted from the awesome Wood Elf noble though:

And the last undead model I did, a couple of months ago, just a converted skeleton leaping over a grave stone which I think looks pretty cool. I need to repaint his sword though, I have no experience with rust and it looks terrible at the moment:

I like those very cool, I like the hand coming up, It'd be cool if you put either gravel or water around the hand.

When rusting try a 30/70 mix of ChainMail and Boltgun Metal then tin bitz.

Nicely done. Personally, for rust I dry brush a VERY light coat of something like Bestial Brown or Snakebite leather, then add some brown ink.

for rust I stipple in some parasite brown very lightly with my drybrush, no dragging the brush, just touching the blade which leaves little spots on the blade, then I drybrush over that with the metal color of the blade, covering over much of the rust, leaves a nice rusty looking blade..

    cheers

Those look pretty cool! Keep up the good work!

I asked a friend how to paint rust, and here's what he told me:
    first, prime the piece black
basecoat with RED (Any red will do, Mechrite Red is probably your best bet)
drybrush a layer of BROWN (Again, almost any brown will do. Bestial Brown is probably the one I'd go with)
and finally, lightly drybrush a layer of Metallic paint (I'm guessing Chainmail is the best)
    Here's the end result:

    Hope that helps!
