I'm having a lot of 'fun' playing against the new Tzeentch book... to say it seems broken is an understatement. I wondered if people had found any good tactics vs them, or whether we'll get an update on our target priorities thread? The one positive I've found so far is the Slann's Warscroll spell now actually has a use! Light of the Heavens forces two-dice battleshock tests. The DoT player therefore has to use two destiny dice 1s to trigger the horrors' banner, so it shouldn't be happening often.
use min sised units to reduse the buffs flamers get and kill the exalted flamers if you can. other then that die well
Prioritize killing the LoC. If that is impossible, kill the exalted Flammers. Then Flamers and then Horrors. Shadowstrike and Thunderquake are the most capable. Probably SS due to starting your Rippers off table. TQ will just result in a scorched EotGs after they teleport a unit of flamers to burn it down.
i would be very carful with thunder quake flamers out threat range bastiladons and if the EotG goes down thats a lot of usles points
Could always do that. Could always just put more chaffe up front and put your big beasts further back. SS is definitely the way to go though. Clear characters and you kind gimp their ability to do damage or spellcast a lot. Its much easier said than done sometimes though. If you see a gaunt summoner, drop him first, before he can do the Horror thing. That extra 200 pts of Horrors he can poof out is absolutely irritating.
In additions to what's already mentioned: - Focus heroes if at all posibile. They're clear lynchpins, especially in a daemon army with their locus of change - Try to ensure horror units have 9 or less pink horrors in them. They can't cast their spell then. This means they lose summoning points & a powerfull buff. And you don't need to put in much effort to push them to 9 or lower, vastly easier than wiping out a unit of horrors.
