Well I am playing A LOT vs chaos players these days.

It usually is vs a guy that plays loads of units, mainly:
    10 Bray, Gors herd
    3 Minotaurs
    Doombull
    Skaven Big Flamer and Mortar
    10Pink Horrors
A big ass Monster with tentacles in its mouth
And a skaven magician that throws a nasty 6d mortal wounds...

    I usually play with:
    Scar Vet on Carnosaur
    Skink Starpriest
    Bastiladon
    10 Saurus warriors
    10 saurus warriors
    5 Chameleon skinks

    980 pts

One game he lucked out that I had the worst rolls ever and killed my bastilladon by doing 3 damage per guy! This is why I like to keep using mystic shield on bastilladon from now on. I am thinking on changing my star priest for a shaman but the priest can attempt to deny spells so that is pretty neat.

Major threads. Well basically I always put the bastillodon to begin shooting at his minotaurs or his doom bull, but what always brings me true pain are his disgusting rats.
-Srsly the mixing chaos with rats its sort of shenanigans.-
They keep spamming their annoying shots and stuff, so far I ignored them because of other bigger threads like the doombull or minotaurs.

I was also thinking on putting 2 salamanders instead of the chamo skinks in order to burn some stuff when they get too close.

As for the other chaos player, well all he does is sit behind 6 units of 10 marauders with a lord of nurgle and 3 Varanguard and basically wait for me to charge so that he can hit my guys. Granted that time he "cheated" as he applied a bunch of rules that he didnt had or simply applied rules that where completely out of range.

Still I sort of wanna try again.

Assuming you're only playing 1000 points I would go
    10 skinks
    10 skinks
    Bastiladon
    Starpriest
    5 chameleon skinks
    Oldblood on Carnosaur

Shoot and run shoot and run.
Oldblood uses command ability on himself. Gives you more shooting though. And when the oldblood shoots chaos daemons add 2 to the damage. Exactly 1000 points.

I believe he adds 2 to the wound roll, not the damage

interesting, altought I honestly do not trust skinks. They are too squishy and dont make enough damage.

BTW how does their ability exactly work? can I retreat after shooting by using their special rule? Or is that only when they are in close combat?

I am with you on that, they are too squishy. But for this option the shooting works. The ability works in the pile in phase, so you're hoping the opponent chooses to attack the carno first so you can get these guys out of combat if charged.
