Still fairly new to AoS and Im having some trouble dealing with my friends highly offensive Ironjawz list which includes Gordrakk. We either play 1500 or 2000 and I just cannot figure out a way to counter act any offensive list i would go up against. Im wondering if anyone has any advice for me and anyone else wondering.
I used 2x 5 guard to gold him up (with eternal starhost. My starpriest casts 'summon starlight' giving Gordrak -1 to hit. That gives you (at least) 5 attacks with 3+ 3+, rend and d3 damage. Took me two turns to down it. Add in a Sunblood for rerolls Most important (for me) is to let him overstretch so not too many support units are closeby.
The problem here is you will fall into the same trap if you try to match his savagery, you need to outsmart him. So building a defensive list with some good buffs forces him to come to you and get shot while doing it. Starseer is great, and guard are hard as nails in an eternal or bloodclaw starhost.
