So I was doing some thinking, and as I need to branch out from saurus warriors I decided to try a dracothion’s tail. The question is how effective is this list? The idea is to have knights screen while razors and carnosaurs do the killing Allegiance: Seraphon Mortal Realm: Ulgu Leaders Slann Starmaster (260) - General - Trait: Great Rememberer - Spell: Stellar Tempest Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (240) - Artefact: Doppelganger Cloak Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (240) - War Spear - Artefact: Sword of Judgement Engine of the Gods (240) - Artefact: Miasmatic Blade Saurus Astrolith Bearer (160) Skink Starpriest (80) - Spell: Stellar Tempest Battleline 5 x Saurus Knights (80) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (80) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (80) - Lances Units 3 x Razordons (120) 3 x Razordons (120) Battalions Dracothion's Tail (80) Firelance Starhost (150) Endless Spells / Terrain Balewind Vortex (40) Total: 1970 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 2 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 99
I like it! What do you plan to place in the Havens from the Battalion? If you own cogs it is worth dropping some Razordons to include. Cogs within DT adds a lot of versatility. If you don't have Cogs then this list seems pretty optimal from what you can build with your current collection.
Unfortunately I own no cogs, hence all the razordons. So for what I was thinking of putting in the heavens were the Saurus Oldblood on carnosaur, a unit of razordons, and a unit of knights would be in the heavens. Thus Incould drop down a screen as well as good shooting and killing power, although I definitely could see adding more stuff into the heavens
A bit of advice. During deployment, if you plan to take second turn, then put anything in the havens that you don't want to be hit with an alphastrike. If it isn't on the table, then they can't kill it. There is a balance between keeping your Slann screened and protecting your other support heroes though.
So maybe both carnosaurs and all the razordons while leaving the knight screen and supports on the ground? That would be a terrifying thing to drop in
