Hey y'all! Here are two of my lists as examples for the possible use of Dracothion's Tail. Those are not finished, but they might show different ways to make that Bataillon worthwhile for 2000 points. "Draco-Shadowlance1800" leaves 200 points open, for a Balewind Vortex and some Saurus, or for a Troglodon, or for an Astrolith Bearer and a Razordon, or more. You get what I mean. Options. The core idea for this is a maximum deep strike. If I really understood the Bataillon correctly, you could literally start with only the Slann and the two Priests on the board and summon in everything else. Allegiance: Seraphon Slann Starmaster (260) - General - Trait: Vast Intellect - Artefact: Incandescent Rectrices Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (280) - Artefact: Blade of Realities Saurus Scar-Veteran on Cold One (100) - Artefact: Coronal Shield Skink Starpriest (80) Skink Priest (80) - Priestly Trappings - Artefact: Prism of Amyntok 5 x Saurus Knights (100) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (100) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (100) - Lances 3 x Terradon Riders (120) - Sunleech Bolas 5 x Chameleon Skinks (120) 5 x Chameleon Skinks (120) Dracothion's Tail (60) Firelance Starhost (110) Shadowstrike Starhost (170) Total: 1800/2000 The second example list is "Draco Eternal Lance 1920" 80 points in reserve for summoning a Priest, which could not be included because of the hero limit. I like his buff though so I'll bypass that limitation by using summoning. With the use of teleporting this - normally immobile - list could be fun to play. I like first list but I'll drop terradont and starpriest for 6 ryppers and a unit of Knights up to 10!! When u top scar vet and them could be amazing
That's a good idea as well. I didn't include Rippers because I don't have any at the moment. The reason why I seldom play without a Starpriest is his awesome buffs. Starlight is pretty great, and Serpent Staff can be a match winner when using Saurus (especially Knights), because mathematically those profit most from it.
I'm skeptical, I think you spend way to much on battalions in these lists. 340 and 300 pts respectively is just an incredible amount of lost units on the board. I think for Dracothian's to be strong, you'd have to build it around a strong Firelance and not include any other battalions, at least at 2000 pts. If you play larger battles, bringing in a second battalion is fine, but here I think you are just spending so much on battalions that would be better off spent on units.
Oh that's definitely possible. Keep in mind I am not a powergamer, in tournaments you will probably not win with my lists. But I think they are viable for normal play between friends, occasionally surprising them with cool combos.
Maybe remove priest and give prism to starp! It's you don't reroll charge but buff on 10 Knights from starp is huge! Remember with firelance they got bonus to charge and slam maybe give another +1u don't need reroll!!
If you buy rippers I think it can be a solid list for tournaments too!as I said in other posts one drop list will be not so common with gh2 . In turn 1 you can have ripper + 10 Knights and chameleon shoot on one unit! Strongest enemy unit is down for sure. If dracothion make you start with only a slan and a priest( and summon every unit in a turn) vs shooting list you can chose to go as second. Enemy waste one turn basically and you can play for doble turn! I think this is interesting list
