i know the chances of this is very particular but say you have a model inside a wood piece beyond 2" and so does your opponent can they end up fighting each other in CC or is it the idea that it's still to dense to see each other and do nothing?
so basically they'd wander around until they enter the 2" edge with never touching or even "knowing" that the other is near
The edge of the wood is irrelevant. A unit can only see 2" through a wood. If both units are in the wood but more than 2" away from each other, then they cannot see each other, and thus neither one can charge the other.
You can't see through 2 inches, so no, one would have to move up to 1 inch then the other would charge. But, in the generals compendium, i forget witch page it has optional rules for fighting under canopy, for wooded battles and such, i think you can even shoot past the 2 inch rule.
Am no that's not correct. A unit can see 2" through woods so the units have to be 2" apart for either one to charge, not 1".
I was just referring to the rule that says you have to be an inch away, so yeah, somewhere between 1-2 inches
As I interpret the rule I would say 2" is the limit, meaning you can see and charge at 2", but not more than that
