Hi! My local GW store is holding a league in a month, so I decided to participate, even if I am pretty noob is a good chance to learn more about the game I made this list based just on my thoughts and not experience, since I have just played a game of AoS :O LEADERS M S W B Skink Priest (80) 8" 5+ 4 10 - General - Command Trait : Inspiring - Cloak of Feathers - Artefact : Incandescent Rectrices UNITS M S W B 10 x Skinks (60) 8" 6+ 1 10 - Meteoric Javelins & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) 8" 6+ 1 10 - Meteoric Javelins & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) 8" 6+ 1 10 - Meteoric Javelins & Star Bucklers 3 x Ripperdactyl Riders (140) 14" 5+ 3 10 2 x Razordons (80) 8" 4+ 3 10 TOTAL: 480/500 EXTRA COMMAND POINTS: 0 WOUNDS: 49 LEADERS: 1/4 BATTLELINES: 3 (2+) BEHEMOTHS: 0/2 ARTILLERY: 1/2 ARTEFACTS: 1/1 ALLIES: 0/200 I guess Razordons want to hunt mini hordes, Rippers are the main punch of the army and skinks want to control the board with the skinks priest's help What do you think about it? What are the type of lists I am going to struggle with? Is it balanced? My lizardmen playstyle has always involved a lot of movement, with skinks, terradons, cold one heroes, I didn't like block style units, this makes me feel I haven't lost my essence. Greetings, thanks in advance! EDIT: March 8th LEADERS Skink Starpriest (80) - General - Command Trait : Master of Star Rituals - Artefact : Incandescent Rectrices UNITS 10 x Skinks (60) - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers 3 x Terradon Riders (120) - Starstrike Javelins 3 x Razordons (120) TOTAL: 500/500 EXTRA COMMAND POINTS: 0 WOUNDS: 52 LEADERS: 1/4 BATTLELINES: 3 (2+) BEHEMOTHS: 0/2 ARTILLERY: 1/2 ARTEFACTS: 1/1 ALLIES: 0/200 So I decided to swap the leader of this small army to the Skink Starpriest. Why? I still get Celestial Rites once, but the Summon Starlight seems to be pretty good with Razordons (now 3 instead of 2) which are now the damage dealers of the army. Also they have sinergy with the Serpent Staff of the Starpriest. Moreover, it can use the 3 basic spells.... Being such an important mini, I chose Incandescent Rectrices for it. Rippers are now Terradons, which are probably less powerful but have shooting and are a source of Mortal Wound
That's a solid list, will you progress to 750/1000pts in the league? This is what I would play but only at 500pts, almost the same apart from Terradons and one extra Razordon and a Starpriest. Allegiance: Seraphon Mortal Realm: Ghur Leaders Skink Starpriest (80) - General - Trait: Great Rememberer - Artefact: Gryph-feather Charm Battleline 10 x Skinks (60) - Meteoric Javelins & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) - Meteoric Javelins & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) - Meteoric Javelins & Star Bucklers Units 3 x Terradon Riders (120) - Sunleech Bolas 3 x Razordons (120) Total: 500 / 500 Extra Command Points: 0 Allies: 0 / 200 Wounds: 52
Thanks for the fast reply @Crowsfoot !! It makes a lot of sense to choose the Starpriest, I guess Great Rememberer is more powerful than my option. Where I can find the Gryph-feather Charm? (book). In your list Razordons become the main burst unit, and terradons are support I guess. Why this choice instead of 3 Ripper and 2 Razor? Are Razors too good not to include 3 of them? The league will stick to 500p, however, I know there will be some bonus for the winners-loser of the previous rounds Thanks!
Can't use Great remember (see above) Gryph-feather charm is in the Core book I think, so many books .......
Master of star rituals is my go to command trait for Skink Starpriests, that could be better for you, and means that you can cast and dispel unlike the regular Skink Priest, with the bonus of being able to use celestial rites.
Solid list. It should preform well. Only 2 battleline are needed at this point bracket. Perhaps you should combine one of the skink units to get the +1 to hit for a few turns.
