    Hi!

Short introduction, I'm clockwork lizard, an almost 17 year old from Holland. I've been painting and gaming six years now. I also like drawing, sculpting and music.

It's cost me several days to get past the register screen, it displayed some strange errors. So now, I'm happy to be here and I will keep a log of my small lizardmen force being painted.

    So far, I've got:
    -24 skinks
    -skink chief with blowpipe
    -skink chief on terradon conversion
    -about 20 saurus
    -scar veteran
    -8 cold one cavalry
    -salamander with three handlers
    -2 krox
-kroq-gar, currently I've got him off the carnosaur, hoping I'll get to play some storm of magic soon.

I have no particular theme in mind, but do want them to be blue-turquoise.
Some pics, these are old but do display where I'm going with my skinks:

    Also, the carnosaur:

That was it for now, I will snap some pics of my saurus next time!

    Welcome to the forum!

Let us know if we can help in any way. Great looking models to start with also.

Hah, you have been in the hobby twice as long as I have, although I have more than ten years over you (was going to say "I'm twice older", but luckily that is not the case). Great looking models so far. I especially like the colour of the fin, it really stands out from the greenish-blue Skinks. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! I will. one question for now:
Does anyone have a good way to sculpt mini snakes and vines for my bases? I'm not too bad a sculpting but I don't want it to take too long.

    Hah :p
I discovered the hobby at school, some classmates were painting dwarfs and orcs. I was 10-11 :p.

About the colours: I try to paint them tabletop-level, but I want them to look finished. So I picked a scheme that was easy to do and looks nice. Sometimes one's gotta be lazy :)

    Update!

To train my sculpting, I figure I should do it as often as I can, so I started a slann.
It's a bit primitive, mostly because I am impatient, But I'm working on making it smooth which turned moderately well.

Also, painting the saurus has started: (very bad pic, will make another one)

That was it for today. Next saturday I have a storm of magic battle coming up. (In the local GW store, I hope there'll be more than two people :p )

looks like the start of a pretty army :)

The molded Slann...I looked at it an instantly thought of Morbo from Futurama:

    Welcome Clockwork Lizard!

I love your work. How did you get the smooth blend from blue bodies to green head on the skinks?

My chameleons have been unpainted for 2 years because I don't know how to get the effect I want.

Also, thanks for the inspiration you gave. Find yourself in Lizardmen Fluff - Spawning of Bob and Friends http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/spawning-of-bob-and-friends.10886/

@newscales: Haha, thx! I wanted it to be more like a real frog, and that means eyes like that.

@spawning of bob: Great stuff in that blog of yours! :)

The smooth blend isn't really that hard, but it isn't perfectly smooth either.
1: I painted the body entirely blue
2: made a green that wasn't too far off the original color, like turquoise. started with a full brush, painted the head and part of the neck. Now, I hope you did that with a drybrush, because now I drybrushed a little bit further, so you get a feathered effect.
3: repeat with the green you want
4: wash entire skin with the same color. This'll help mask the transition
5: I then drybrushed with white lightly.

Very simple, and it works pretty good for all kinds of colour transitions, especcially in skin and the like. I think it only works with small transitions, but you'd have to try that as I haven't.

I really like the color on your skinks and the Carnosaur looks pretty nice too. Slann is showing promise. Looking forward to seeing it complete.

Urgh... I can't concentrate on one thing at a time... :p

I got inspired by massivevoodoo, that blog, and decided to paint my orc shaman I had lying around and create a socket for it. Worked pretty nicely, wasn't even that much work.

So, not showing any lizardmen today, this is wurzagg, the orc shaman:

    Thanks!
the base is a piece of wood, with cork sheets on top (the rocks) and cardboard glued to the sides. the rocks are peanut shells (dunno why) and the tree is made of wood elf dryad parts. the grass is citadel jungle grass.

Back to lizardmen: I painted a terradon chief, nice conversion which I didn't do myself but looks cool I think.

Hang ten! That Skink Chief must have an excellent sense of balance!

Nice transition coloring on the sword. Very unique.

Update! Not much painting done that's worth noting, but I did take up other projects including drawing and photoshop stuff. I've been drawing and playing with toy soldiers since I was very little (still got loads of playmobil laying around :p ) and I still love both. :)
