Agreed! I mostly use it for terrain and basecoats now, but most of my Bretonnians were painted with those colors (which is why the paint went on a bit thick ). The "avocado" color is the one I use for the edge of all my miniature bases, works really great as a jungle green color.

I never use my fancy GW or Vallejo paint on terrain. I always go for the cheap stuff. I have some DecoArt paint as well, but mostly I have Craftsmart paint from Micheal's. So far I've been pleased with the results.

Took a few years, but in the midst of fall cleaning I went ahead and printed out labels to bring a level of organization to my leftover bits bin!

Yeah still not done with the cleaning though... keep getting distracted :D

I do use them! Mostly for terrain, but the paint collection has grown a bit. I did use mostly apple barrel paints on my Bretonnians, but for obvious reasons the paint goes on a bit "thick." I now use the majority for terrain projects and basing :lurking:

You mean DecoArt? I use quite a few of these on my models as they are much better value than GW’s stuff. I only buy GW stuff when there’s a particular colour I’m after in the GW range that DecoArt and Humbrol don’t do, like Ushabti Bone and washes.

I especially like the DecoArt "avocado" color, I use it for the edge of nearly all my jungle bases. Its such a great "jungle" green color :lurking::lurking:

The main colors I use from GW are the reds (always seems to be better pigment), skin tones, and metallics. I also have two greens which I use for my lizardmen.

Its been a minute! We have moved so the old game room is no more... but my wife helped me rebuild game room 2.0!

    warden20200613_game room 2.0_01.jpg
This one is a little more cramped due to the computer table being in the same room, but then again it is much more convenient for when I want to run music or a youtube video while I am painting. You can see I am in the middle of some painting projects at the moment.

    warden20200613_game room 2.0_02.jpg

My wife went ahead and put up some of the Mayan artwork she got me too!

My shelves are next to each other now, packed full of past and future projects to tackle.

    warden20200613_game room 2.0_03.jpg

Paints and artwork supplies on this shelf:

    warden20200613_game room 2.0_04.jpg

This one has all the bitz, the sprues yet to be assembled, and the husky boxes with all the painted miniatures stored inside. Some of the big ones are on the shelf (like AKU MASTER OF DARKNESS). Warhammer and other game books are on this shelf too.

And my wife bought me a new mouse pad!

Here is some of the artwork my wife put up on the walls for me:

    @Warden i am sincerely jealous.

I WISH I had a room free to do that with. My table is a foldout one and all my miniatures are locked away in GW hard plastic boxes.... :(

That would explain your recent inactivity on the forum, but it’s great to see you’re back in business - thanks for the like-bomb by the way!
I notice that in addition to your Warhammer Fantasy stuff you’ve also got the 40K 5th and 6th Edition rulebooks (my fave editions :smug:) and some 5th Edition codices - apart from your Orks (who I remember vividly ;)), what 40K armies do you have?
Also notice you have some Necromunda and Kill Team (I noticed Orks again :D) in the waiting list to be made - any particular Necromunda gangs take your fancy?

Loving all the Star Trek memorabilia there too!

That looks a brilliant games room, you’re a lucky man to have it (and a wife who encourages you to use it ;)). I can just imagine you building Mayan cities and Samurai villages on the table for your forces to fight over :p

You are welcome, its good to be back home!

I do have a bunch of codices on the shelf, thanks for noticing. Just went ahead and organized them a bit more:

    warden20200613_game room books.jpg

I love lists, so here you go.

    Wargaming/RPG Books (left to right):
    • Stardrive (RPG setting)
    • D&D Big 3 books from 3.5 ed.
    • WHF 8th ed. (my brother has 7th)
    • WHF 6th ed. (well loved and well used, we were still using this one all through 7th and 8th ed., barely opened the other one! :D)
    • WHF Lizardmen 6th, 7th, and 8th ed.
    • WHF Lustria Campaign Setting
    • WHF Dwarfs 6th and 7th (didn't buy 8th for some reason)
    • WHF Bretonnia 6th (the last one :()
    • Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago and Lost Colonies
    • Kings of War Historical
    • Savage Core (its a tiny one, can barely see it)
    • WH40K Battle for Maccrage ruleset (4th ed.)
    • WH40K Black Templars (4th ed.)
    • WH40K Space Marines (4th and 5th ed.)
    • WH40K Orks (4th ed.)
    • WH40K Kill Team (got it for like 5 bucks at a discount book store!)
    • and WH40K Rulebooks 4th and 6th ed.
Edit: updated editions for 40K rulebooks

Mordheim rule, campaign, and warband binders are on the bottom shelf. Also got Test of Honour on the other shelf which has the rules for Pike and Shotte. Can't see the X-Wing binder either, which has all the game cards and rules inside.

On the army side here is my list (with pics for the completed stuff in either of my paint blogs):
    • WHF
      • Lizardmen
      • Bretonnians
      • some Savage Orcs
      • a single Treeman (painted to match my Bretonnians)
      • no Dwarfs :( someday I will get a set of Long Drong Slayer Pirates...
    • WH40K
      • Space Marines (original Battle for Maccrage, built as infantry Black Templars)
      • Orks (to include my Luftwaaaagh!!! :rage::rage::rage:) and the kill-team box
      • Adeptus Mechanicus starter box
      • and a few assorted Genestealers
    • Warmachine/Hordes
      • Gatormen (Minions)
      • Cryx (unassembled)
    • Others
      • Skeletons (for KOW but have played them in Mordheim)
      • Samurai (can play as Test of Honour, WHF, or KOW)
      • Maelstrom's Edge (mostly unassembled)
      • Some Blood and Plunder (unpainted)
    Lists are fun :D

I am also a fan of Necromunda but haven't bought much yet as I have been focusing on Mordheim the past few years. I am working on a Necromunda setting and am hoping to start building terrain at some point. Right now I have a box of Van Saar, though my Orks and Adeptus Mechanicus could also potentially work in the game. I like the look of Delanque and Cawdor, might get them someday. Or perhaps some Escher and paint them as barbaric/voodoo warrior ladies.

I am very lucky, my wife is amazing. Aside from being the best friend I have ever had she was really invested in gifting me my own space to work my projects. She isn't a wargamer but has helped me a few times, and even played a few Mordheim games with me before. Might convince her to do so again someday :D

All the Mayan terrain is in a few boxes in the closet, and hope to build more Samurai terrain in the future too!

@Warden I have the same deal with my wife. She helps me organize my stuff, find things on EBay, etc. She's not a gamer, but she really likes that it makes me happy so she backs me up to the hilt. :) Pretty cool chick.
