Hi all, I made this thread so I could show you my models. I have been a member for a long time now (about 1,5 years) and looked for tips and tricks here on Lustria. Now I figured it would be time to show some of my models. Me and my husband have been painting some Lizardmen and Orcs and Goblins. So I will show them both. I am not a very fast painter, but I like to paint. So it could be some time between updates. So far we painted Cold ones, stegadon, skink priest, saurus veteran BSB, saurus warriors and handlers. From the Orcs and Goblins we painted: Night goblins, savage Orcs, catapult, shaman, goblin champoin and orc champoin. At the moment we are busy with an unit of skinks and wolf riders. We started with some cold one riders.
Well, Thank you Bowser! Next up was the stegadon. I started with the Beast first and then the Howda. And know the finished model with basing:
That steg is stunning! The black scales really loook great! I think the blue and purple colour scheme for the skinks looks incredible!
Thank you Bowser and Tom ndege! The flower is from the Citadel Death world basing kit. Since the lizardmen have normally a jungle / swamp base I thought lets put a poisonous flower next to the stegadon. Really liked the flower to. I have to say that we started this hobby only 1,5 years ago. So about the same time I joined Lustria. Those Cold one Riders were my second unit I ever painted, the first were savage orcs.
Next up were the saurus warriors. It took me a long time to finish them. I finished them only just in January. I got a bit distracted by all the boxes we've got and trying something new; Green Stuff! When I was busy with the warriors i finished a skink priest from the stegadon box and Saurus scar veteran BSB. Pictures will follow soon!
They look awesome! I like the colour variations, from that ice blue to that ocean blue. The colour blending turned out brilliantly!
I noticed some time ago that my photocamera wasn't making beter photo's than my phone's camera. So it was time to buy a new camera. So now finally the pictures from the skink priest: I am Really proud of the dagger. Wanted to make it black with a metalic shine to it. Well that succeded. Glad the camera picked it up. And ofcourse the Saurus warrior BSB, with a picture before it was washed:
Thank you all! If there are tips than they are welcome. I am still learning and experimenting with painting. Just as with these skink handlers: These are my most recent finished models. For my skinks (core unit) it will almost be the same painting scheme except for the light blue belly.
At the moment I am working on a unit of skinks with javelins and hand weapon and a old blood. I have 10 skins ready for a wash with drakenhof nightshade and 14 still needs it basic coloring. My old blood had it's basic color and had it's wash. . After this the old blood is getting some highlights, and gold.
This is the results of some highlighting and gold. with another shade for more shining effect. It's head still needs a wash of agrax earthshade gloss for a nice and shining gold. More pictures will follow when the head is finished and is attached to the body.
It looks quite unsettling with a tongue protruding from the neck hole! Lovely paint job so far though.
After long waiting for the head to be glued on. I finished the model. Here are the pictures: And the close ups:
