Hello guys, I 'm currently building my army *SLOWLY but steadily - will make a personal blog at some point hopefully * and I want my lizards created within jungle terrain ! Has anyone used water effect products so far ? Ideally I would like my Saurus to walk inside a small river or pounds of water etc. I 've tried one which is glossy and seems nice but it has no volume. I would like it to "cover" part of the legs. Any advice is welcome !
There are products made for that purpose (from Ziterdes or woodland scenics for example). If you don't need much they are good I guess. Most are some kind of liquid resin stuff and a hardener. Less expensive sutff used for that is "clear polyester casting resin" something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Polycraft-...&sr=8-3-fkmr2&keywords=glorex+polyester+resin or this: https://www.amazon.com/Environmenta...-1-fkmr0&keywords=glorex+polyester+resin+cast or this: https://www.amazon.de/Gießharz-Resinpal-1707-20-Härter/dp/B0073UGPLS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1492082370&sr=8-2&keywords=resinpal+1707 It is important that you choose one that hardens clear. Problem with small bases is that you don't have enough space for it on the base. Look at these links for further reference/tipps. http://variancehammer.com/2015/06/04/eight-tips-for-using-water-effects/ That YT channel Lukes Aps has some videos with rivers and waterfalls and stuff. Hope this post is helpful.
This one might be helpful, but, you may need some sort of tube around the base if you want it a bit higher, something to keep the water effects on the base.
I used this video to make my troglodon's water base: From Woodland Scenics channel, got a lot of advertisements for their model train products, but their tutorials are useful too.
