Greetings all! Done with being a long-time lurker! After a LONG hiatus from Fantasy, I'm excited to be getting back into wargaming in general again (my son is just about the age that I was when I picked up my first 40K models), and modelling, painting, and building scenery in particular. I have dug out my collection of early Lizardmen minis and am hoping to expand what I have to include some of the new stuff that GW has put out, as well as some of the recommendations from the folks here for alternate models (I'm looking at you, Woogity), and maybe do a little sculpting of my own. I do a good bit of concept artwork as a sideline to the day-job, so if anyone is looking to get some illustration done, hit me up and I'll see what I can do for you. Thanks for being such a welcoming and inclusive community! -Steve
Welcome to the forums! The Old Ones rejoice when a lurker joins the active community. I think Woogity has entice more lurkers out than anything else. Whatever version of the game you play or whether you just want to paint and read fluff pieces we have the resources for you. You probably knew that already.
Welcome aboard but were are the pics of your old models? Get a thread started in the painting section, we all love seeing forum members work.
Most of them are "in-progress", but with my boy getting involved in gaming, he wants to get painting so I expect to have a lot more done. Images to come! And thanks for the warm welcome!
He'll be 8 in November, Crow. He's been ogling my collection since he was really small and we started playing Mordheim about a year ago. He asked if he could use the LM for Mordheim and I dug up the Lustria stuff for him. He's a ruthless opponent. We're building a Temple now as scenery for Fantasy and he's having a blast being my Art Director on the project ;P
We just started it this weekend, so it'll be a little while, but I'll definitely post for comments and critique!
You can see it here, http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/were-do-you-paint.16138/ Need to post updated pics as I have boarded the ceiling and added a much need shelve.
I love the work space. I'll take images of my own "work area" as well as the models and scenery I'm currently working on and get them posted.
