hi all - as usual I’m going crazy with the green stuff (as In modelling putty - just to be clear) I’m currently ploughing through an entire 2,000pt army list - converting every model in said army + a few extras I fancied a go at. Any way, thus far I have completed; -Kroak -Cold One knights -Scar-vet on cold one -Sun blood -Eternity warden -Star priest -Chameleons (And to be continued - scar-vet on carno, skink priest with wings, Slaan, Dread Saurian, troglodon and astrolith bearer) these I know what I want to do with. What I need help with is ideas for my; -Engine of the gods -Bastiladon (solar) I’m really struggling to come up with half decent (original of possible) conversions. I’m happy to go extreme (green stuff) and kit bash - but I want them to be based on the original models - with obvious differences that make them unique. Ideas so far - Bastiladon; body curled with tail twisted in an attack (think crescent moon shaped position) with an angry rather than high face. EOT; some sort of sacrificial alter (a body stretched on the back piece being cut open for the heart by the lovely skink priest) Want the Dino looking different though! Any help more than welcome! Thanks.
Wouldn't a Bastilidon going full armadillo or hedgehog be unique? Or giant prisms on both sides of the Bastilidon, as opposed to the crystal on top. Kitbashing a few bits and bobs from a Fire Prism from Eldar perhaps. Or just use green stuff around a popsicle or something. *mind is racing at the possibilities*
Hello and thank you for the reply, I think full armadillo ‘although cool’ would pose a threat to the poor skinks on top lol The lights on the side though...interesting! I shall draw a few ideas and see what it looks like!
I was thinking along the lines of the Dinoriders teveshow; dinosaurs that carry around canon-esque barrels that end in the prism/crystal!

Get a battery operated motor and fit it inside the Basilidon, have the motor turning the crystal on the shell. EotG, fit coloured leds on the portal
Fill the portal hoop with plastic diffuser from a light fixture. Paint it to look like Stargate or trick it out with LEDs behind the plastic. Set the hoop piece level with the ground for a different look. [?]
Add the pieces leftover from the Bastilodon (there’s a choice of horns.. ? ..I think) to the Stegadon kit. Take some card stock or plasticard and give steggy some serious side armour. Like a late War Panzer Mk4 G? H? only with lizardglyphs.
The side skirts of the H variant mainly protected against infantry held anti tank weapons that were HEAT (High Explosive Anti Tank)
