Across the arid desert a warm wind made its way, sometimes blowing pockets of sand and ancient debris with it. And with it also comes the smell of something long dead, of ancient battles and a once great civilization that is now one with the dust and sand of the desert. In many parts of this great barren nothingness, the curse of ever life still plagues the bones of the restless dead, stirring the spirit of Nehekhara into being. COMPLETED SO FAR: TOMB KINGS: MAGOG, BONE GIANT VAMPIRE COUNTS: Pieter Von Carstein 20 Zombies 20 Skeletal Spearmen The Crypt Bats (Vargheist) DARK ELVES: Nothing complete. UPDATES: TOMB KINGS: NEB'NESEW Manufacturer: Reaper Miniatures Warlord 14236, Neb'nesew Nefsokar Warlord Sculptor: Tim Prow Got quite a bit done on Neb'nesew this week. The robes, skin, some base work, metal work... Would have finished but I ran out of time... had to choose between him and the bone giant. Need to finish up the wood staff and some final highlights in places. Any other tweeks that you see? What would you do to elevate him? COLOSSAL SKELETON Completed this week! You can find him on CMON: MAGOG, BONE GIANT You can also find him at Mousekillers Tomb Kings Army thread! TOMB KINGS SKELETAL WARRIORS Manufacturer: Games Workshop 7th Edition Sculptor: Colin Grayson Worked the bones a bit and changed the shield color to stripes. Is it working? VAMPIRE COUNTS: CALLUS DARKLORE Manufacturer: Reaper Dark Heaven 02449 Callus Darklore, Necromancer Sculptor: Jim Johnson Another one that I could have possibly finished this week, but chose to spend the time with the Bone Giant. I did add scrollwork to the scroll, went back into the purple, and decided to go back in and do some more work to the face (I went very light on the face early on, and with the highlights and washes to the hair it got very muddy looking). ARRIUS THE BLACK Manufacturer: Reaper Dark Heaven 02766 Arrius the Black, Skeletal Champion Sculptor: Bob Ridolfi Just started this guy this week. Worked the bone a little, armour, and the red parts of the armour. Cape is based. SKELETON WARRIORS Manufacturer: Games Workshop 8th edition, unsure what company manufactured the unit leader Sculptors: Aly Morrison, Brian Nelson, and Mike Anderson, unsure who sculpted the unit leader Some bone work, base metal, and reds. DARK ELVES: DARK ELF SORCERESS Manufacturer: Games Workshop 4th/5th edition Sculptor: Chris Fitzpatrick Well, I opted to go with green for the other color instead of red... green, orange, and purple are triadic colors so hoping that they work together. I know the trim is more of a yellow than orange.... Also went in and worked the trim and purple a little more. DARK ELF CROSSBOW REGIMENT Manufacturer: Games Workshop 6th edition Sculptors: Aly Morrison, Chris Fitzpatrick, and Mark Bedford Worked the purple a bit, still a few highlights to go. Metal is base coat.
These all look amazing but that bone giant, crypt bats and Von Carstein are truly incredible! Absolutely gorgeous!
I love the skeletons and their shields! They reminded me to the circus! And the other models look good so far!
Nice minis! Actually a fan of the Neb'nesew -- how did you do the orb on the end of the staff? It almost looks like a swirling blue orb. GW actually makes some cool techincal paints too that can help things like that pop even more. They're gemstone paints, soulstone blue actually makes it almost shimmer!
What colours did you use to get the skintone on the Dark Elf Sorceress? I've been trying to get something like that for my wife's Aelfs but it never really looks right - either too dark or too chalky.
I really like the first guy, Neb'nesew. You can truly paint an amazing level of detail! Looks thoroughly like he belongs in long lost Nehekhara!
