My girlfriend insists on getting a cat, does anyone know if these mix well with miniatures given that some of the miniatures resemble prey much more than most other toys tend to. Don't want it to choke on a half eaten skaven :p

    ... I wouldn't leave any models out.
Because kittens generally play with everything,
and might chew on them a bit.

Get a Catfish. A Catfish is cute, very Cuddly, doesn't leave hair, nerver goes far from home and if you ever get tired of it, you can just eat it. It's the perfect pet.

My cat occasionally jumps on the table and sniffs my models, but she isn't really interested in them.
She only once hit my Slann with her paw (he was sitting on the table without his palanquin, just primed) just to see how he reacts, but that's all.

That being said: Every cat is different. Just don't leave her alone with your models and you will be fine.
Having cats (other pets as well, but cats in particular) is great, they really improve yourt life. :)

Yep, lock them up or put them away. Also a game at home could very well be interrupted by a cat rolling around in the table. Breaking more delicate points on models that are in the path.

Meh, I'm not too afraid of it jumping on the table while playing. Most pets I've known tend to not pull stunts like that, or at the very least quickly learn not to.

As for keeping it locked up, would it need to be genuinly inaccesible or should it be sufficient to just keep it out of reach on a space it's not allowed on? For young kittens that haven't yet learned what's allowed I'd assume you'd basicly need to keep it hidden. But for an older cat would it be possible to just have them on a shelve? Most of the cats I've known tended to only jump on the things they were allowed too, they'd rarely if ever jump on say the dinner table.

Depending on how you train the cat and how often it is home alone. Kitten won't be able to jump too high, but as it gets older i will try to explore more. Having an enclosed cupboard or a rubbermaid tote would probably be best.

Just get a rock and paint it like a cat. Or get an older cat, those are typically calmer.

Sadly my girlfriend wishes to cuddle with it. A rock seems ineffective.

It might just be that most of the cats I've met were older and perhaps also th more well-behaved ones.

Ah well, at least it gives me the excuse I need to get a better storage place for it.

What's a rubbermaid tote? Google doesn't give any usefull results. Just shows cleaning stuffs.

    Agreed.

Even though (normally) he stays away, mostly because I yell if he gets too close, I find hair everywhere. He might not even be in the room, and I would be painting something, and go to pick up the next mini and find hair. :shifty:

    Normally he just lurks.

How about this kind of cat? I'm sure you both want to cuddle with this kitty.

But if you get this one, you won't have a pet rock, but you will have something just as hard. ;)
