im trying to find a way to get through my saurus warriors quicker. I have watched a couple of WHTV painting tutorials and I see Duncan using kantor blue for saurus scales. I’m wondering if I could use macragge blue spray for the scales to save some time? Has anyone done this?
Problem with trying to spray the scales is it will go on the rest of the model, better to spray the full model then drybrush the scales another colour then glaze them.
I just used Macragge Blue as my undercoat spray in the first place. That way (if you aren't fussed about the scales being exactly Kantor Blue) you just add the shade and dry brushing directly onto the scales rather than adding another base coat, and paint everything else normally
I use Army Painter color spray primer. I only shade and drybrush the model afterwards. It works rather nicely if you are aiming for tabletop quality and want to speed up the process. You can definitely do that with GW products of course, if they have a blue that fits. Macragge should do it.
Thanks for the replies. I think I’m going to try army painter spray then paint in the skin. It will speed up the process a bit.
