Hey everyone, I have a box of skinks coming in and I've decided that ide like to paint my battalions in the theme of the sacred spawning from an old fantasy armybook I have. Haunchi (the jaguar god) seemed to make sense for the shadowstrike battalion, and his spawning have a black/brown earthy tone. Ide also like represent a jaguar pattern on them somewhere, but I figured the scales would look a bit obsurd like that. I was thinking maybe there frills or shields? I am open to all opinions and suggestions, or if anyone has by chance seen any similar ideas painted anywhere.
I think keeping the Jaguar pattern to the frill and shield is the best bet that way you could paint your skinks orangey/brown with a creamy under belly. The pattern, paint the shield the same orangey/brown tone then add black irregular spots then orangey/brown in the middle of the black spots. When you paint the shields go darker at the bottom so the shield isn't monotone.
Thanks for the advice mr. Crowsfoot. hopefully they will turn out okay. Ill post some picks to my blog when I get around to painting them. Almost finished with my knights which is last on my list
I did see this guy a while back, jaguar pattern on a carnosaur (check out this post on can seraphon have cats):
Wow that is really cool, thanks for digging that up! At one point I was thinking of painting my skinks to resemble one of my pet snakes but i think that would be beyond my skill level
I’ve had this post saved for a while from someone off of reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/ageofsigmar/comments/90400r/wip_experimenting_with_snake_patterns_for_my/ Way beyond my patience to commit to it or other snake patterns as a main unit paint scheme, but a hero or dinosaur unit with it would look rad.
