Thought I'd do something a little different here and show the construction process for @Sikeron who did a really solid sculpt. Hopefully he won't mind me uploading the photos/images he showed me, but the style is to change the pose somewhat and create a new headdress. These are the general themes, something very fitting IMHO, I'll see if I can work some other touches in as I go along. In addition, I'm hoping this step by step process will add to the fire of people getting excited about these contests and sculpting too.
... Colored clay, what sorcery is this? (ok it's probably fimo) But what I really meant to say is Amazing Sculpt Rikard Sikeron.
Nothing much to show yet, but fret not, I'm treating this like I do many projects, little bits in stages for helping in getting an idea of the build up.
Setting it up in stages is always good, we can see the changes happening and gives us an idea of sculpting in stages instead of trying to do it all at once!
Good luck sculpting those! I like the headdress, looks like the ones from Apocalypto. The mask head would be cool too...
Sorry everyone (especially @Sikeron ), never a quiet moment, even when I REALLY need one. I've got a smallupdate here, but still wish to plod on a bit more before I can call anything finished.
Thanks mate. Small update, I've made some huge progress, but no photos, my mac died (been without it for 4 days), only just been able to get back online (using a friend's comp), hopefully mine will be back soon.
Still don't have a computer, still trying to sort out the issues with my mac (hurray....), but I have managed to finish the custom piece for @Sikeron I hope you're around bud and you like what you see, let me know what you think.
I like the tiny scaled shoulder pads. Also the fur/floppy flame coming out of his head looks really good.
Thank you all, just waiting on Sikeron now to make sure he's happy, then I'll pop it in the post to him.
Hi there... I am really sorry that I haven't replied recently but due to some major illness I wasn't able to. The miniature really looks gorgeous.... Are you still planing to do something to the tabard? Anyway... I am really happy with it.. It'll make a fine unit leader.... Thats the best 3rd price ever...
No problem, just glad you're ok. I hadn't planned on anything with the tabard, wanted to try and leave some of those areas a little bare, just so that it allows for some free-hand painting work. If you're still ok, let me know and PM me your address (can't remember if I still have it at the moment).
