Hello Lustria! Just looking for some general advice in how to counter FEC. I know my opponent Plays a monster heavy gristlegore list with a focus on flayers. I know his list has: AGK Terrorgheist Terrorgheist Zombie Dragon Abhorrent Archregent Lots of flayers. Potentially ghouls and courtiers. Any pointers on lists/battalions or decent countering units would be extremely helpful. Cheers!
The best option is to build speed bumps with skink screens and try to kill their support heroes before they are able to use their summon. Kill the General ASAP with Razordons and/or Bastiladons. Kill the Royal Terrogheist in single rounds of combat before they are able to fight twice. If you kill of their behemoths quickly you should be able to over take them though out the course of the game due to summoning and objective holding.
Essentially, put EVERYTHING I have into the general and terrorgheist and hope he doesn't get a double turn.
Yep. Shadowstrike is pretty good for this because they can't kill what isn't on the table. And a unit of 6 rippers is more than capable of killing a Royal Terrogheist. You can kill two if they are close enough together.
Awesome. Appreciate it. I'll have to get one more set of rippers. I'm sitting at 3 and 3 Rippers and Terras, and no Razordons to speak of...
Here is something worth considering: try killing a monster with another monster! Preferably a carnosaur. With some luck they can kill ZD and Terrorgheists. However the plan suggested by @LizardWizard is definitely a solid one
Carno's aregreat at killing the Royal TG or ZD. The hero version will likely win the trade though. If you list or summon one then focus on kill off the battle line behemoths. Doppelganger's Cloak on an Oldblood Carno is superb for fighting the Hero TG/ZD.
Agreed, I luckily haven’t fought the hero Verizon’s of the ZD or TG but a carnosaur is likely to lose, unless you can chip off a few wounds. A doppelgänger cloak is always an excellent choice for getting the drop on you opponent as attacking first is crucial in winning these fights.
If you take a Carno for this list, take the SCAR-VET with judgement blade on his weapon with 6 attacks.
It can certainly be a ton of damage. The Carno will have to be the one charging though or it will lose the fight.
Agreed, if the scarvet has even some bad luck on the first turn and fails to deal atleast 7 damage it will probably be killed.
