    Hey y'all. I need shields.

Specifically, Roman shields. Either scutums or ovals. For 28mm figures.

The issue is I don't want them to cost ridiculous amounts of money.

This is because these will be going on EM4 dwarves, and I don't want to reduce the value of the dwarves by having to pay almost the same price as the miniature for it's shirld.

    Thoughts and suggestions?

I think you will struggle to find cheap ones that look good, why not cast your own?

Buy a pack, get some blue stuff and off you go.

Blue Stuff (or Oyumaru, same thing) is awesome. For shields a simple mould would suffice I guess. Sounds rather easy.

OK, i don't know if it can help...

Warlord Games (the ones that produce Bolt Action) support also a large bunch of historical games (Black Powder, Pike & Shotte...)
Amongst those games, there is also Hail Caesar.

They don't sell bits, so you should buy the whole box, however they are at a reasonable price (£ 20 for 24 legionnaires) and at the moment there is the "Easter Classics" promotion, with a 33% discount.

I thought of that. But I just need the shields. Preferably in mass numbers

Btw, i just saw that they, indeed, sell also bits, and Crowsfoot already posted the link... :bag:

20 shields for £ 6 is not a bad deal...

It doubles the cost of the miniatures though. I'll figure something out

I've just had a look and both of these sites do really nice shields for my idea of Sea Elf hoplites I was discussing on the GW 'News' Thread. Gripping Beast shields are the cheaper of the two and you do get more for your money which is nice - are they metal or plastic? They look metal.

The Macedonian Successor Pikemen shields seem the best bet - they are the largest and also look the part.
