List Idea: attack with rippers and terradons behind them. range attack from terradons+ripper charge will destroy everything? turn 2 maybe terradons fight in melee if skinks screen them to survive long enough. enough wounds to kill important targets while casters summon in the back and prepare to deal mortal wounds to what survives i think maybe taking the astrolith and the pendulum out to make a skink unit 40 models. I think having a blot toad is important, and going second seems better of the time, so in the event of having to go first then don't do anything, get summoning points. Turn 2 starts the game with extra summoning points.
the Shadow strike would help in not having to go first, and you still get the bloat toad for the rippers in reserve for the battalion
You still get a bloat toad with Shadowstrike Starhost. The unit is apart of your army so you are able to place one.
I dont need to go second. If he has move first then I don't move at all. I don't see the value in losing men to choosing to go second when I csn go second by skipping my turn
I think we are having a communication issue. your previous post seemed to indicate you would prefer going second. also... you cannot skip a turn.
You definitely can not do anything on your turn. The only automatic parts are battleshock and scoring. Your turn still occurs. Which I don't believe you ever thought wasn't the case.
as I said, he cant skip his turn, the turn occurs, points are tallied etc. I figured it was just a communication error from what he meant and what I was perceiving
Just for the sake of completeness, (it doesn't matter for this case specifically but I wanted to mention it): that's only true if you are not in melee yet. Since AoS 2.0 you cannot elect to not attack in melee anymore.
