Hi Guys, First post on here so thought I would start with my newest WFB army. My local club the 5 main players (myself included) all play High Elves so decided to start something new + the army gives me plenty of painting opportunities. Here is one of my current Elves. Im not the greatest painter in the world but I try to ensure that my army looks consistent across the table so at 1ft away it looks decent The current model that i am working on is tetto'eko whilst I wait for the rest of the army to arrive from various suppliers Not the usual colour, but I enjoy painting Purple Slowly getting there, details to do on it (gems, eyes etc) Next on the painting list is roughly 60 skinks /wrists
Very nice Tet. The colors are well blended on the feathers and I like the orange-ish accent color on the palanquin
I like what I'm seeing, but I'd love to see some more colours on the small details that are still coloured in black.
So lots of progress since I was last here 50 skinks have been airbrushed and scales painted (/wrists such a dull job) This was achieved with a black primer, Dark Purple base (spray from underneath at a 45degree angle), Purple base (sprayed from above 45 degree angle), purple wash then a violet Dusting from above for the final highlight. The scales were just turqoise I also did this method on my Sarus but did not apply the final violet dusting to try and make them look older than the skinks My Slann also arrived so started painting that Not happy with the skin tone yet, but at least its got paint on it, In my old age ive started to dislike playing with painting models
And then for this weekends progress I have started on my 3 terradon units, All of the models are magnetized to the flight stand, also makes painting them super easy Again all done with the airbrush, still one more highlight stage after this point (I have done this but didnt take photo's) I wanted the colour to be a nice bright colour to contrast with the purple skinks/Sarus. The scales on the Salamanders and the Cold ones will be Purple, although I am worried about a potential clash with the scar vets but I will have to see
Its frustrating having it so messy, When I come back from Turkey I am having a big clean up and going to move a few things around. Going to get one of those MDF paint racks to hold all the bottles. Cheers for the comments on my painting. I am not the best but I try to keep everything looking nice and uniformed.
Mention my name to Walt and he might give you a discount... Ps. I recomend one of the universal racks as they fit reaper and GW paints.
