    Greetings all!

If this is posted in the wrong spot, my apologies (just joined this great forum today).

My sons and I are brand new to AoS (coming from 40k). We're starting small (my sons are Stormcast and Nighthaunt), and I decided on the Seraphon. From 2 start collecting boxes, I have built/converted to the following:
    -Oldblood on Carny
    -10 knights
    -20 warriors
    - Astrolith Bearer
    -starpriest
    -Olblood on foot
    -scarvet on cold one

So, just looking for suggestions on what to make of the last 5 knights and carny/trog. I'm thinking 5 knights and a troglodon, but any suggestions are much appreciated. Cheers!!!

    Welcome to Lustria

Just build the Knights as they are. Lances are the normal go to weapon but blades are pretty similar. once you have 15 Knights you can build the Firelance Starhost. For the last Carno kit I would make a Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur. it's a decently killy model and its command ability synergizes well with the Saurus Warriors or Knights.

Thank you for the fast response!

I hadn't thought about the battalion (being very new to AoS lol). The Scar-Vet synergy makes sense as well.

    Thanks very much again, Cheers!

On a side note, if you are allowed to proxy some models (basically, your Oldblood on Carno as a ScarVet on Carno), then it could be better to build the second dinosaur as Troglodon...

Along a similar line, if you are not planning to run both an Oldblood and ScV on Carno at the same time you can use both kits to build the Oldblood and the ScV. With a small hand drill and some magnets you could make the two riders interchangeable. Which would allow the riders to be swapped as needed and free up your second kit to be built as a trog.

Exactly what I did. My Carnosaur has interchangeable riders and the second box was made into a Troglodon.

Only issue I have is I glued the oldblood on the carny. I have had success separating glued parts on different models so I'm going to see if it can be done without too much fuss. If not, I may just do the scar-vet and have both. Cheers to all for the great advice! :)

Big thanks to Crowsfoot, that's where I actually started when I got my first start collecting box (amazing tutorial!).

I've actually settled on the final builds: I'm doing the last 5 knights as standard. I was able to remove the glued on Oldblood from the carnosaur, so I am in the process of magentizing so I can go between the oldblood and scar-vet on the carny. Lastly, I decided to build the troglodon (I love the model!).

Cheers and thanks to everyone for their excellent help and advice. Now it's time to paint and then build my first 100 point list for an event at our GW store on April 20 (I will be posting in the army list thread when I have my list).

Well I am a low to average skill painter (working to get better, 2 thin coats and all that lol), but I will definitely post some pics as I go.

    Cheers!

I am the same. Check out my Blog/insta full of my painting (it's in my signature)... I have been doing it for less than 2 years and have ZERO natural talent for art. honestly, my buddy who (until very recently) owned an LGS sat with me a few times and just went over a few easy to learn tips and tricks.

best tip I ever learned was when to stop. hold the model out at full arms length. if it looks good at that distance it is good.
Go easy on the primer spray and use one size smaller brush than you think you should when painting. It will take you a little longer, but if you are like me it will give you a bit more control. Don't skimp on the shade, it works magic for contours and contrast.

Great advice, thanks very much! When to stop is probably one of the best piece of advice. I will post some WIP tonight/tomorrow.

    Cheers!
