I felt bad for clogging up the forums with new posts so I'll stick them all in here.
Here's my Bessy! (Just got some finishing touches left for her )

No, I lost my WhiteDwarf magazine with all those Lizardmen painting tips in.... I kinda just winged this paint job, I used what paints I had near me and used your Bessy's crystal for reference :)
Edit: Should I highlight with red?

Yeah it will bring out the detail, use your base red and mix some yellow into it go 70/30 then dry brush it, then go 50/50 and dry brush the toes, knees, chin.

If it looks to chalky give it a red glaze.

My camera / lighting isn't picking up all the dry brushing / color layers, sadly :(
Just gotta wait for my green paint to arrive so I can paint the grass, I'll neaten up some edges during that time too.

I like the blue crystal for the bastiladon beam. I may use that color for my second one. Keep it up!

@StinkySkinky your definitely improving on the painting, have you grasped the layering concept?

I've had an idea to paint a mini but paint each layer a contrasting colour so you can see where each one goes, it's to help my son grasp the concept but I could post pics if you think it would help.

Thanks man, I appreciate the compliment :)
I wouldn't say I fully understand how to layer, I feel like I've improved but have a long way to go.

YES PLEASE! I would be very thankful if you could! I still have about 4,000 pts worth to paint so I may aswell learn sooner than later :D

Oooo, wow! That looks intimidating! Have you used them in a game yet? That could be so cool! They look great! I did something similar with my Wood Elf Treemen. I call them my Birch Brothers. They are tasked with guarding the Ancient Treeman (in an all tree WE army) Super fun fluff!

I just saw your post with the Birch Brothers, they look awesome! I haven't been able to try the Carnosaurs in a match yet, really can't wait though! Just finishing off some skinks + rippers and I'll be able to field a 2.4k army

Some of my fish tank scenery stuff arrived today so I've just got to cut it up and add wire support + create some bases for some nice jungle scenery

I recommend you get a hot glue gun,
I haven't found anything else that works well on plastic plants.

I just superglued some to my carnosaur base about 5 minutes before you commented, hopefully it doesn't just melt the base or something :/

But regarding the bigger plants I don't have to cut them up, each big plant consists of 3 segments which are connected by hooks, which in turn can each be attached to the base with the hooks!

Really impressed with it so far. I'm thinking about making a square base with about 16 poles on each (so imagine a 4x4 grid of poles) so you can customise each jungle base whenever you want

the super glue worked (thank god) - I tried to make it look like the Carnosaur was pushing through the Jungle :)
