Hey All, So I initially started out with the start collecting box. Ive posted a few pics already but Ill move them to here. After finishing them I became very..VERY addicted and ended up buying the Shadowclaw Strikehost box for way too much money. Ive been working through that now and Ill post some updates. Id love your feedback and advice on how to improve. I feel like Ive improved even between the Start collecting box and the battleforce box! Ive taken a couple of pictures along the way, so I hope that gives a bit of an insight into how I paint. Painted: Oldblood on Carnasaur Scar Vetran on Cold one Saurus Sunblood (Convert) Skink Starpriest Troglodon Bastilodon (Needs basing) Saurus Warriors Saurus Knights To be Painted: Skinks Terrodons Ripperdactyls Scar Veteran on Foot Astrolith Bearer (Kitbash)
Nice work on all of those! If I had to criticize anything it would be the Sunblood's weapon. There is another weapon somewhere on the Warrior sprues (IIRC) that is more similar in shape to the GW Sunblood's weapon.
Yeah, he should have a mace or something. I might actually take a look and see if I have it, wouldnt be a big deal chopping that hand off
well done so far, I love your work on the big Dino's. Scales, skin are beautiful. i feel like the scales of the Scar-Vet and Sunblood might benefit from an extra highlight. as well as all the gold might benefit from a shade and highlight. Overall impressive look, like to see more Gr, Imrahil
Thanks! I had forgotten to get them shaded. I have also recently discovered brass scorpion, which is now my favourite GW paint, so I might go back and give them a little TLC
Nice work! I like the coloring on your bastiladon; and the trog looks good too just couldn't make it out well on the second picture because of the lighting. Well done!
I really need to work on my photo skills! Im currently working on skinks and ripperdactyls. Im trying to get 24 skinks, 3 rippers and 3 terrodons painted for Saturday. No Pressure right?
The Venerable Lord Kroak I had a ton of fun with this model. I wanted to try and do something unique for the base, seeing as he will be a mainstay in my army. I had some spare parts from a stegodon sprue and used that for the base. I wanted to make it look like he was meditating above a reflection pool or something along those lines. Really happy how he turned out
Been working on a base for my engine of the gods. I used some cork to make the stone and then a couple of pebbles as well. I was considering doing a water effect as well, but not sure how to get a good colour for it.
The base looks really good! Vallejo company has a lot of instructional videos on how to make nice water effects if you look for inspirations.
Looks great, water would add much to it. Here is a tutorial of @Crowsfoot on water wave bases. Gr, Imrahil
