Hello! Just thought I'd get started posting my lists here. Some are fluffy, some are more competitive (and mostly based on the suggestions from this forum). But as far as story goes, the general idea around my army is that it's mostly comprised of ancient Lizardmen who survived the destruction of the Old World and are now raising a new generation of warriors to continue fighting the forces of Chaos. Two Slann, one who leads a faction of Coalesced who have made their home in the realm of Ulgu, and one who commands a force of Starborne whose temple-ship mainly orbits Hysh, have forged a close alliance in order to bolster each other's armies and be more effective in fighting their ancient enemies.
First list: Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Koatl's Claw Mortal Realm: Ulgu Leaders Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (250) - General - Command Trait: Dominant Predator - Artefact: Eviscerating Blade Lord Kroak (320) - Spell: Stellar Tempest Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Hand of Glory Saurus Astrolith Bearer (140) Skink Starseer (140) - Spell: Tide of Serpents Saurus Scar-Veteran on Cold One (110) Battleline 20 x Saurus Warriors (180) - Clubs 20 x Saurus Warriors (180) - Clubs 5 x Saurus Guard (100) 10 x Saurus Knights (200) - Lances Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Balewind Vortex (40) Bound Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (70) Bound Chronomantic Cogs (90) Bound Emerald Lifeswarm (60) Total: 2000 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 0 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 111 A Saurus-heavy list that is backed up by some serious magical support and damage from Lord Kroak and several endless spells. Supported by the Skink buffs and a Scar-Veteran and a unit of Knights to flank and try to counter-punch after the warriors get stuck in.
A list I used quite effectively against a Skaven Clan Pestilens horde: Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Thunder Lizard Mortal Realm: Ulgu Leaders Slann Starmaster (260) - General - Command Trait: Vast Intellect - Celestial Apotheosis - Artefact: Itxi Grubs - Spell: Celestial Equilibrium Lord Kroak (320) - Spell: Stellar Tempest Saurus Astrolith Bearer (140) Engine of the Gods (260) - Artefact: Fusil of Conflaguration Battleline 20 x Skinks (120) - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) - Meteoric Javelins Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) - Meteoric Javelins Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers Units 4 x Salamander Hunting Pack (80) Behemoths Bastiladon (220) Bastiladon (220) Battalions Thunderquake Temple-host (150) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Bound Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (70) Balewind Vortex (40) Total: 2000 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 98 The Skinks screen while Lord Kroak, the Slann, and the Bastiladons unleash a hail of magical death upon their enemies!
If I were to run Saurus, I would get bigger blobs. 6 wounds is all that has to be dealt for you to lose your attack bonus. Also, cogs, as great as they are, are very expensive. It's essentially 10 warriors you give up for a bonus that also affect your opponent.
So I've been bored and just started making random lists, figured I'd put them up and see what people think. All of these are using models that I have, which is why a lot of the Saurus and Skink units are 20-30 instead of 40.
Thunder Lizards with Lord Kroak: Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Thunder Lizard Leaders Stegadon with Skink Chief (250) - General - Command Trait: Prime Warbeast - Artefact: Fusil of Conflaguration - Weapon: Sunfire Throwers Lord Kroak (320) - Spell: Walk Between Realms Skink Oracle on Troglodon (220) Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Hand of Glory Battleline 20 x Skinks (120) - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers 20 x Skinks (120) - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers Stegadon (240) - Weapon: Skystreak Bow Behemoths Bastiladon (220) - Weapon: Solar Engine Bastiladon (220) - Weapon: Solar Engine Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Bound Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (70) Bound Emerald Lifeswarm (60) Bound The Burning Head (40) Total: 2000 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 0 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 101 Two Stegadons, two Bastiladons, Lord Kroak and a Troglodon to extend his casting range and deal some damage in combat. Skinks to screen and grab objectives while still providing decent ranged damage.
Koatl's Claw Kroaknado Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Koatl's Claw Leaders Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (210) - General - War Spear - Command Trait: Dominant Predator - Artefact: Eviscerating Blade Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (210) - War Spear Lord Kroak (320) - Spell: Celestial Equilibrium Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Hand of Glory Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Hand of Glory Saurus Astrolith Bearer (140) Battleline 10 x Saurus Guard (200) 10 x Saurus Knights (200) - Lances 10 x Saurus Knights (200) - Lances 10 x Saurus Knights (200) - Lances Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Balewind Vortex (40) Bound The Burning Head (40) Total: 2000 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 0 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 125 Saurus Knights and Kroaknado equals lots of damage, hopefully!
Thunder Lizard Carnosaur Rush Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Thunder Lizard Leaders Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (230) - General - Command Trait: Prime Warbeast - Artefact: Blade of Realities Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (210) - War Spear - Artefact: Fusil of Conflaguration Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Hand of Glory Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Hand of Glory Battleline 20 x Saurus Warriors (180) - Clubs 20 x Saurus Warriors (180) - Clubs 20 x Saurus Warriors (180) - Spears 10 x Saurus Knights (200) - Lances Behemoths Bastiladon (220) - Weapon: Solar Engine Bastiladon (220) - Weapon: Solar Engine Battalions Sunclaw Temple-host (140) Total: 2000 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 132 The idea is to keep the Oldblood safe until he's in range of a key enemy hero or unit, then send him in with full buffs. The Scar-Vet and Knights, as well as the Warriors backed up by Starpriests should be able to put in work as well.
Thunder Lizard Thunderquake Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Thunder Lizard Leaders Stegadon with Skink Chief (250) - General - Command Trait: Prime Warbeast - Artefact: Cloak of Feathers - Weapon: Sunfire Throwers Engine of the Gods (260) - Artefact: Fusil of Conflaguration Skink Starseer (140) - Spell: Hand of Glory Skink Priest (70) Skink Priest (70) Battleline Stegadon (240) - Weapon: Skystreak Bow Stegadon (240) - Weapon: Skystreak Bow Stegadon (240) - Weapon: Skystreak Bow Units 6 x Kroxigor (280) - 2x Moonhammers Battalions Thunderquake Temple-host (150) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Bound Emerald Lifeswarm (60) Total: 2000 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 89 My take on a Stegaggedon variation. Lots of Stegadons, but backed up by some Priests and Kroxigors.
Koatl's Claw Infantry Only Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Koatl's Claw Leaders Saurus Oldblood (110) - General - Greatblade - Command Trait: Dominant Predator - Artefact: Blade of Realities Saurus Sunblood (130) - Artefact: Eviscerating Blade Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Hand of Glory Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Hand of Glory Battleline 5 x Saurus Guard (100) 30 x Saurus Warriors (270) - Spears 30 x Saurus Warriors (270) - Spears 30 x Saurus Warriors (270) - Clubs 40 x Skinks (240) - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers Units 10 x Chameleon Skinks (180) Battalions Sunclaw Temple-host (140) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Extra Command Point (50) Total: 2000 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 2 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 172 Just a thematic all-infantry list. I'd probably increase the amount of Saurus if I had enough to run 40 in each block, but I don't
Fangs of Sotek Salamanders Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Fangs of Sotek Leaders Slann Starmaster (260) - General - Command Trait: Arcane Might - Spell: Stellar Tempest Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Hand of Glory Skink Priest (70) Terradon Chief (70) - Artefact: Serpent God Dagger Battleline 5 x Saurus Guard (100) 30 x Skinks (180) - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers 30 x Skinks (180) - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers Units 12 x Salamander Hunting Pack (330) 12 x Salamander Hunting Pack (330) 9 x Terradon Riders (270) - Sunleech Bolas Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Bound Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (70) Total: 1980 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 0 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 153 I have six Salamanders, so I might as well find a way to keep using them! The idea behind this list is for the Skinks and Terradons to rush forward to grab objectives and deal some damage, and then teleport a group of Salamanders to any open key targets.
Dracothion's Tail Kroaknado Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Dracothion's Tail Leaders Slann Starmaster (260) - General - Command Trait: Ancient Knowledge - Spell: Stellar Tempest - Ancient Knowledge Spell: Celestial Equilibrium Lord Kroak (320) - Spell: Stellar Tempest Saurus Astrolith Bearer (140) Skink Oracle on Troglodon (220) - Artefact: Godbeast Pendant Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Hand of Glory Skink Priest (70) Battleline 5 x Saurus Guard (100) 5 x Saurus Guard (100) 30 x Skinks (180) - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers Units 6 x Kroxigor (280) - 2x Moonhammers Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Balewind Vortex (40) Bound Chronomantic Cogs (90) Bound Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (70) Total: 1990 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 0 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 112 Not sure about this list, tbh. My idea was to deploy Kroak on the front lines, while keeping the Slann, Troglodon and some backup troops in the sky to drop behind enemy lines, getting the Trog in range to channel Kroak's magic while also accumulating summoning points that can be deployed near Kroak, the Slann or Trog as needed.
Thunder Lizards Dread Saurian Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Thunder Lizard Leaders Slann Starmaster (260) - General - Command Trait: Arcane Might - Spell: Celestial Equilibrium Lord Kroak (320) - Spell: Stellar Tempest Skink Starseer (140) - Spell: Hand of Glory Engine of the Gods (260) - Artefact: Fusil of Conflaguration Battleline 20 x Skinks (120) - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers 20 x Skinks (120) - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers 20 x Skinks (120) - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers Behemoths Dread Saurian (510) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Bound Emerald Lifeswarm (60) Bound Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (70) Total: 1980 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 0 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 126 Based on Caleb Hastings' Dread Saurian list. Buff the Dread as much as possible, and then launch him forward while the Skinks grab other objectives and Kroak moves up to blast enemies bogged down by the Dread.
Fangs of Sotek Sunclaw Starhost Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Fangs of Sotek Leaders Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (230) - General - Command Trait: Old and Grizzled - Artefact: Serpent God Dagger Slann Starmaster (260) - Artefact: Itxi Grubs - Spell: Walk Between Realms Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Hand of Glory Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Hand of Glory Battleline 30 x Saurus Warriors (270) - Clubs 30 x Saurus Warriors (270) - Clubs 30 x Saurus Warriors (270) - Clubs 20 x Skinks (120) - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers 20 x Skinks (120) - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers Battalions Sunclaw Starhost (160) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Bound Emerald Lifeswarm (60) Total: 2000 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 157 Lots of bodies, 2 rend on the clubs, and Skinks for ranged support that can shoot and retreat when charged. Saurus command trait and the Slann should generate enough command points to both allow for the shoot and retreat abilities and to use all-out attack, defense, etc. Starpriests can throw Hand of Glory and Blazing Starlight out for buffs.
Fangs of Sotek Firelance Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Fangs of Sotek Leaders Slann Starmaster (260) - General - Command Trait: Arcane Might - Artefact: Itxi Grubs - Spell: Stellar Tempest Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Hand of Glory Terradon Chief (70) - Artefact: Serpent God Dagger Saurus Scar-Veteran on Cold One (110) Battleline 5 x Saurus Guard (100) 40 x Skinks (240) - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers 40 x Skinks (240) - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers 5 x Saurus Knights (100) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (100) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (100) - Lances Units 9 x Terradon Riders (270) - Sunleech Bolas Battalions Firelance Starhost (160) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Bound Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (70) Bound Purple Sun of Shyish (60) Total: 2000 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 170 This is a very fast, mobile list designed to dish out a lot of mortal wounds with Hand of Glory, Terradon bombing, and the Knights charging.
Thunder Lizard Monster Mash Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Thunder Lizard Mortal Realm: Ghur Leaders Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (230) - General - Command Trait: Prime Warbeast - Artefact: Fusil of Conflaguration Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (210) - War Spear Engine of the Gods (260) Skink Oracle on Troglodon (220) - Artefact: Cloak of Feathers Battleline Stegadon (240) - Weapon: Skystreak Bow Stegadon (240) - Weapon: Skystreak Bow Stegadon (240) - Weapon: Skystreak Bow Units 3 x Kroxigor (140) - 1x Moonhammers Battalions Thunderquake Temple-host (150) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Bound Emerald Lifeswarm (60) Total: 1990 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 88 Definitely not the most competitive list, but certainly a fun one! The strategy I'm thinking of with this would be to have the Stegadons, Kroxigors and EotG castle with the Bound Emerald Lifeswarm + healing from the EotG keeping them alive as long as possible, while the two Carnosaurs hunt key targets and the fast-moving, flying Troglodon moving to whichever group needs his help.
Love this. Honestly if you wanted to drop the third steg for some skink screens, I think the list has a lot of legs. It's just tons of chompy, stompy threats with a few screens. Whats not to love?
If I drop the Stegadon I could get 2 squad of 20 or 4 10-man units of Skinks. I like that idea as most other armies seem to have no problem getting turn 1 charges off. Thanks! I'm really enjoying it, and I definitely feel like I'm getting better at learning the new playstyle since we got updated.
Tried to make a list with a big unit of Saurus Guard. While they may not be quite as cost-effective as Saurus Warriors, the fact that they always get 2 attacks with the polearms, have -1 rend and 2 wounds makes me think that running a large group of them with Kroak at the center might actually make for a really good death star build. This list may or may not have been inspired by Gor-Rok's playstyle in Total Warhammer I know that the Eternity Warden isn't really needed, but I couldn't think of what I would want to swap him out for. Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Koatl's Claw Leaders Saurus Sunblood (130) - General - Command Trait: Dominant Predator - Artefact: Eviscerating Blade Saurus Oldblood (110) - Suntooth Maul Saurus Eternity Warden (110) Lord Kroak (320) - Spell: Stellar Tempest Saurus Astrolith Bearer (140) Battleline 20 x Saurus Guard (400) 20 x Saurus Warriors (180) - Clubs 20 x Saurus Warriors (180) - Clubs 20 x Saurus Warriors (180) - Spears Battalions Sunclaw Temple-host (140) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Balewind Vortex (40) Bound Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (70) Total: 2000 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 134
