i was wondering if there is a tier list for fantasy and 40k. i've never really seen one only heard things around the table of "well your army is good but space marines would own you". i was wondering if there is infact a list of like high, middle and low tier in 40k and fantasy. my friends are trying to get into the game also and dont like playing op armies. they like the challenge, not the walk in the park. if someone could find or show me a tier list for 40k and fantasy that would be great. that way i can show my friends and finally help them decide what armies they wanna play.

There is indeed. It is somewhat subjective, but usually the top 2-3 are pretty much agreed upon. Here is a thread for WHFB:

definetley agree there, there's no way DE should be that low down.
tbh, i think 8th did a good job in pretty much removing the whole 'tier' thing. WE and TK are still pretty weak, and a few are perhaps a tad stronger than they should be, but it's hardly like 7th where you'd set up vs. daemons and think why bother
