8th Ed. Victory Points (unit+characters)

Hey guys I have a question about scoring.

When you deploy a character within a unit and it never leaves it untill all the unit but him is destroyed, do u get the points?

To summarize, do u need to kill both the unit and a character to get the points or of you kill either of them you get the respective points?

I would believe that just killing one would be enough to get points is this correct?

You are correct. If the character is killed, but the unit lives, you still get VP for the character. The same is true if you kill the unit, but the character survives... you would get the VP for the unit.
