Hi all, I'm currently working on the square bases for my Saurus. I'm going for a swampy feel and I have some woodland scenics water resin. I'm just wondering what you all use/ would recommend to block off the edges of the base when using the resin?

I blocked the edges of the base with sand glued by PVA.

    How it looks before priming:

That looks good, that was my plan for a few of the bases. However I'm trying to to do it on some so that the water is at the edge of the base. So I've built up a bank of sand part way into the base but want the water to go right to the edge. I've seen the effect done before but I'm a bit lost about what material to use to stop it at the edge that won't just get stuck to the resin.

    Try clear plastic or perspex

Honestly, I just used painters tape to seal the edges of my carno base. Some leaked out, but it worked for the most part. Not sure if it works on a smaller scale with sharp edges....

So I attempted this using perspex and when I removed it it took half the resin off with it unfortunately. Trying again with tape now
