With the new warscrolls we have to as ourselves an old question...:)
How do we build our skinks?

    The options are now:
    - Meteoric Javelin, Celestite Dagger and Star-buckler
    - Boltspitter and Moonstone Club
    - Boltspitter, Celestite Dagger and Star-buckler
    - Moonstone Club and Star-buckler

still blowguns they have the longest range. then you use the staff and deal mortals on a 6 to wound
you dont ever want your skinks in melee now

What Erta said. Though you could always have ten Jav/moonstone Skinks in front of your boltspitters as a screen. If they die, oh well, they're cheap and line up your others for better range/positioning.

Skinks are as powerful as they were before. Just for different reasons.

Movement trays are your friend, and you don't need 300. I am just finalizing a list.

I’m just picturing 100 line up with club, 100 line up with javelin followed by 100 with boltspitter with a starpriest and perhaps a priest or terrain chief.... all marching forward lol

Hoping it's okay to post here instead of starting a new thead:

What's the general consensus on the better kit for Saurus?

(...IIRC, I believe the running thought in the rumor thread was that the -1 rend on the clubs now makes them the preferred build over the previous spear build...)

It's the same as before, except there is more leway with clubs. 10-20, clubs. More than that, Spears.

Why? This edition will be the first time I'll play since 7th Edition, so I have no idea how the game has changed.

it has to do with the range of the weapons mostly. Clubs are of 1 inch range, and thus he won't be able to get more than 10 to 15 in combat. Spears on the other hand are two inch range and you'll be able to get far more in combat as well as have multiple ranks fight.
there is -1 Rend on the clubs, but again you're not going to be fighting more often with them then you are with more Spears.

That makes sense, with a 2" range, you'll hit with two rows at least. You'll probably will make units of 30-40 so you'll have at least 15 minis to ensure the +1 attack bonus.
