This is the first model I've painted, and hopefully will have more soon. I do have a little art background, just not in model painting. Please give me all the critique and advice you can so that I can improve.
If that's your first attempt at painting I'm impressed. You can take the Horns and teeth a bit further as they look monotone atm. The spear head look at small details like the gem in the centre, painting details like these bring help the model pop. I did a tutorial on horns a bit back http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/painting-horns.21552/#post-244481
Thank you for the advice and I'll definatly check out that tutorial when I get home from work. I have some experience with paints and colors from art classes back in school, just never tried painting a model up until now lol.
@Crowsfoot fantastic tips, thank you. I added the gems, I also added a lighter white to the teeth and nails but for the life of me I could not get a good picture. But here's the spear and gauntlet
Finished my saurus, basic scheme, just trying to practice until I feel confident enough to tackle some more advanced techniques. All critique is much appreciated. Sidenote: theres some bad flash, I didnt notice until after base coating (which is sad because I work in injection molding) and decided not to worry about ot since I know I'll be unsatisfied with these paint jobs in the future when I can do better.
Looking fine despite the flash. Apart from the obvious thing (missing base! ) I think you are good to go.
Finished my cold ones, been really busy at work (so much overtime). Still no bases yet, I am working out how I want to do my terrain
