The world is changing Lord Xlcontiqu and your time for action comes once again. A new temple-city must be built and the magical mists of Albion must be restored. Go now, and build Konquata, your time to shine is now… Lord Xlcontiqu awoke from his meditation suddenly, the vision from his slumber clear in his eyes. His skink attendants rushed to assist him, but his raised a hand for silence. Projecting his thoughts into his priest’s minds he said, We must leave Itza. The Old Ones have given me a sign. Muster the troops. The skink priests and attendants rushed out, except for his chosen attendant Chosi-Raz. The skink rushed up onto the palanquin and sat next to Lord Xlcontiqu. It was time to move, time to battle again. The Host of Choloq-tec was unlike any other Lizardmen army in history. Lord Xlcontiqu’s host was handpicked by him when they first spawned, with every warrior bearing some sort of yellow mark, the colour of the sun. As Lord Xlcontiqu floated out of the temple to join his army, he was met by three of his commanders: Zlatan, Changaz, and Tepozolo. Zlatan and Changaz were his two trusted Scar-Veterans, both masters of battle, and Tepozolo was a Skink Priest, a practitioner of Heavens magic. Where’s Hexec? Xlcontiqu thought. Tepozolo chattered back rapidly, explaining that Hexec was out scouting with some Terradons. Satisified, Lord Xlcontiqu floated past his commanders and they fell in behind his palanquin, following him to the front of the army. As the Slann reached the front of the army he turned and addressed his host. Today we go north, to form a new temple-city, Konquata, and to restore the mists of Albion. Turning back, he lifted his hands and blessed the army with a few spells, one to speed their journey and one to keep the dangerous jungle animals at bay. He nodded quickly to his commanders and the Scar-Veterans let out a roar, signalling the start of the march. Lord Xlcontiqu was a third generation Slann Mage-Priest, though he lacked some of the magical prowess his fellow mage-priests had. He was a practitioner of Light magic and what he lacked in magical skill he made up for in tactical knowledge and quick decision making (a quality not seen often in the Slann). He refused to be protected by Temple Guard mainly because none that spawned were marked by the sun and he knew that his innate skills would keep him safe. Plus, he always had Chosi-Raz to protect him in a pinch. As the army marched forward at a seemingly impossible pace, he thought about his vision. Constructing a temple-city should not be particularly challenging, but re-establishing the mists of Albion would be quite the feat. There had to be a way, but how? ________________________________________________________________________________________ The army marched for a week taking breaks every day or so to replenish their strength. It was not until the ninth day after they left before Hexec was spotted. He came in quickly, his Terradon quite beleaguered. As he landed, he rushed to Lord Xlcontiqu and spoke. “I know of a way to restore the mists, great lord. These plaques,” he finished. Lord Xlcontiqu examined the plaque and knew immediately the Terradon rider was right. It depicted Chotec holding ten similar plaques, wreathed in mist. Thanking Hexec, Lord Xlcontiqu called for a rest. They would reach the site of the new temple-city soon, and he needed to think. As he entered a trance, he was quickly consumed by the image of Chotec. The skink has brought the secret to your mission, you must retrieve these ten plaques. Deciphering them is your job, but assembling the ten is the first priority. They are called the plaques of Atakai and are scattered throughout Lustria and the world due to the thieving other races. Retrieving them is the first step to returning the world to its proper balance. Lord Xlcontiqu awoke and pondered for some time. Deciding to begin construction on Konquata first, he summoned his army and ordered the march again. Three days later, they had reached their destination and construction began. And with that, the hunt for the plaques started.
Looks pretty good. I'm surprised the new city is only about a week or two away from your original position. I would think of the jungle being somewhat larger than this (even with a speed-boost from Xlcontiqu). Other than that, work our RPG characters in your story . You surely have permission to 'use' Ilok . Have fun with him. 10 plaques, 10 (or so) battles. Seems good to me! The Hunted
Wait what? OT: Great fluff can't wait to see how The Solar-Powered Ones' luck changes in battle now that you've posted it.
