Ive just started building my Lord Kroak army. I think these new Khaine magic rules have ruined Kroak and ive wasted my money. Under Khaine rules you can keep casting the same spell until dispelled. With Kroak simply stop the first cast and whole reason to take Kroak is ruined. Can we see Khaine magic being used in tournaments and have i essentially wasted my money or am i reading to much into it

Kroak can still keep casting if dispelled. He is a unique exception to the rule, and the Khaine rules doesn't change that.

The army book should trump the End Times book.

But is it a conflict or a contradiction?

Kroak can cast it as much as he'd like.

To the haters, Kroak sez, "Frog-get abouddit!!" :D

I am incapable of shame. :D

I agree. He can cast what ever he wants, he's the bowss (as long as it's Deliverance of Itza).

    Yay! Puns for everyone!

It was actually a tongue in cheek comment. I don't even know what had been decided to allow the AB>BRB as I'd stopped reading that thread. It was ridiculous.

So wait does this mean Kroak can cast the last until he runs out of dice or is it based on his level?

Until he runs out of PD. That's at least how I read it.
Look under his entry, under the "deliverance of Itza" spell.

Says something like "can be cast as many times as kroak wants to, as long as there's any PD left in the pool "

it has also been ruled at GT's in Texas, that the same statement allows him to continue casting even if he fails.

for example, if I cast at the 10+ level and roll a 5 on the 2 dice, and have PD remaining in the pool, I can cast it again.

Really nice way to try to stretch a 6 PD Magic Phase. 3 2Dice castings as opposed to 2 3 dice

Khaine magic rules are optional so just don't play them. Sorted.

    For now.

And not everyone has the liberty to just refuse using them. I know of a larger community near me, who have outright ruled that the new magic system is now part of the core rules, and replaces the old ones. If you don't want to accept that, you can go elsewhere to find a game.

    Not everyone have that option.

Besides, it's nice to talk about how this affects us. Considering what they did with the hero and lord allowances, it isn't completely unrealistic that they'll do the same with these rules.

The End times rules also benefit Kroak. The Kroak bomb is still very possible to off, because of the casting value being sufficiently low that you can spam cast it. Having twice as many dice to do that with is awesome, and the d6 power dice isn't much of a limit, since you'll likely only be 2-dicing it to begin with.

I have a feeling that the majority of the people that complain about the new magic system, haven't actually tried it yet.

sounds like if anything the khane rules just make him even more powerful than normal in that you have 4d6 dice instead of 2 and your opponent might be occasionally limited to only throwing 1-2 dice to defend it. Love using Kroak...sometimes feel bad about using him vs my buddy who plays tk tho...

I'm not a fan of the End Times personally... I'd be the one to find a game elsewhere in that situation. Luckily in my area, it's quite the reverse, very few people are playing End Times rules.
