If someone ever worked out a way to make a lightsabre blade curve: what would they call it? How come no one has ever created a lightdagger?
Tricksy light spears are better. No, Preciousss! Light sabres!Light spears I tells you! No one likes you, Scalenex!<Sobs> Scolenex! How coulds you?
Lumiya, a character from the Star Wars extended universe used a lightwhip. As for a lightdagger, the closest thing I can think of is a Shoto, which is like a lightsaber short sword. Luke famously uses one in his off hand in conjunction with a full sized lightsaber (one again in the extended universe). Actually he uses the Shoto + Saber combo to combat Lumiya and her lightwhip.
The extended universe stuff is all the content coming out of novels, comics, video games, etc. Of course, since Disney acquired the rights to Star Wars they have wiped the slate clean and thus the pre-existing extended universe stuff is no longer considered canon. Some of the extended universe content is extremely silly while other stuff is exceptionally good!
