Actually KFA only has a 3+ armour save, so the above calculation is incorrect. You need 324 total shots (assuming you're hitting on 6's with poison, i.e. ignoring any instances of non-poisoned hits) β324 shots needing 6's to hit, 3+ armour save, 4+ ward save β324*(1/6)*(1/3)*(1/2) β9 unsaved wounds βone dead KFA!
162x7=1134, so i guess not. XD Skinks can shoot on him multiple turns (hopefully), so their fire is still not completely wasted. The best response in my oppinion is still just taking off his magical gear, he only has 2 magical items which are both vital to him.
Good luck getting all those skinks into firing position... especially for multiple turns. KFA is faster and will probably be locked in combat fairly quickly. Although I do love the imagery of skinks taking the big guy down!
You are ofcourse right, i just meant that skink fire is not completely wasted on this guy. even a single wound will be more then worth an entire unit of our little buggers, as long as there is no Life magic..
Underwhelming armor saves are the norm for Empire SCs. Basically the sculptors/designers seem to believe that shields are not heroic. Thus that Ghal Moraz and Runefangs are one handed weapons, all the Empires best fighters have worse armor saves than the men they lead.
That's a good point, taking pot shots at him is definitely not wasted because each of his wounds are very expensive points wise. Also, if you can put a few wounds on the guy, the Empire player might not be so confident to throw him into your units... because if KFA falls, the game is pretty much over. KFA is already completely overpowered. Imagine how horribly cheesy he would be with a 2+ or 1+ armour save!!!!
why's the slann being attacked? He should be in the second rank until the group falls below five models.
Precisely. Or he will be in the back rank after you refuse a challenge (in subsequent rounds when your Temple Guard champ is dead).
