That's a good point, there are a lot of big name movies on the way, anyone of those would make an ideal launching point. Plus it provides a bit of separation between it and the last teaser.
For me it should have stopped at Jedi and no more, I was very disappointed that they made 1 2 and 3 and now 3 more? Don't take this like I don't love starwars I do and I have them all including special editions but Jedi for me was a good ending. Will I watch the new ones, hell yes.
That's a good point. I don't think we'll see it for a little while longer due to its proximity to the recently released teaser #2. But you're right, Star Wars day would have been a very fitting setting for it... come on Disney, make it happen!
I said Phantom Menace! I said Phantom Menace! Empire drools! Machete order is EVIL! Hahahahahahaha! Raaaaaaauuuuurrrrrrghhhh! Sorry about that, I've got that out of the way now and will never need to say that again. I think that was my cold-blooded Trandoshan Dark Side, Darth Ulaan there. He always likes to loudly proclaim to everyone else that his fave is Phantom Menace and I agree with him although not as loudly. Yes I've cast my vote. Hope you like it. Oh, by the way you need to update your poll to incorporate 7, 8 and Rogue One.
For the moment. I am probably also the only one who thinks Empire is the worst. While I don't think it's awful like my Dark Side does, I just feel that there were too many unforgivable plot-holes to make it better than any of the others.
Episodes 1-3 could use a reboot. There are a lot of useable things in them, they hust need to be told better. Having Darth Maul stick around to the third movie, would give Obi Wan something better to do, Making Jar Jar an outlaw Gungan instead of a clumsy one. Maybe a smuggler, different personality. Or just not include him, and have them bring Captain Tarpals along. Have Palpatine spend more time on lore and legend. You get so much mileage out of a cryptic line. General Grevious should have been threatening, not a big build up to basically nothing. In fact Have Maul take down Grevious, which opens up Kenobi to kill Maul, finally avenging his master after all these years, only to find out that the true apprentice to the sith lord was Anakin. Have Samuel L Jackson do something. Seriously. We spend more time on a wooden romance than we do on jedi fighting clones after order 66 drops. So much that could have been done, so much squandered on nothing.
Jar Jar was a Gungan outcast. The Gungan people were very lenient with him because despite having so many accidents he never meant to do any of them. It was only when he crashed Boss Nass' favourite submarine that he was exiled and was threatened with execution if he ever came back. That's why he was in chains in the council scene - he was scheduled to be executed. The Gungans were actually very strict with their laws for the most part - most criminals were stoned to death, even if they only committed minor crimes. That's probably why they didn't put Jar Jar as an outlaw per se - he would have been dead before Episode I would even have been filmed! I like your idea of Captain Tarpals being the main Gungan character because he did basically lead the army and would have been a very good frontline character. Mace Windu did do something - he killed Jango Fett and he would have stopped Palpatine if it wasn't for Anakin. I like General Grievous pretty much the way he is - the only reason Obi-Wan defeated him was because he is one of the most powerful Jedi ever. The main reason why I don't think so much of IV-VI is because they lack the grittiness of real-life that the Prequels and Rogue One do have. Many good people do die in the real world, and I just don't think much of the 70s and 80s escapism that the OT provided - it just isn't realistic enough in my eye. Also I think they made Luke too idiotic (not to mention ridiculously lucky) in Empire and I feel that they should have done the space slug in stop-motion, because the way it was it looked more like it was undead rather than alive. Talking of reboots, I am writing a reboot of New Hope onwards on Fanfiction.net, if any of you are interested in reading it. Here's the link below: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12476593/1/Star-Wars-Episode-IV-A-New-Hope-rewrite I kept the opening scene in because I did feel that was very good. Let me know what you chaps think!
The Empire Strikes Back for me. Cool action, great new characters, has the best tension filled lightsaber fight in the whole series, and the soundtrack is one of the best in John Williams' long discography of film scores. This cue alone had me sweating in the theatre when watching the re-release in 1997.
So as it stands now, we've got: Original Trilogy = 17 votes Prequel Trilogy = 5 votes The people have spoken!
