Hi there since all the rumors i closed my lizardmen army .... But then i realized that this rummors are shit and that i wont bother i just canot stop thinking of that boxed slann that i have and all the other nice stuff so i decided to take on that project again And here is the work in progress Slann albino bad ass baus ofc this dude is not finished but you can clearly see in what direction i am going for anyways do comment
He looks great so far, how have you done the lines for the pattern? And a nail palette is really good to see, thought I was the only one.
i was thinking on making the pateren all over indeed but the bell will be white and have some aztec look alike sun tatoes on it i want him to have that lizardy feel ; the lore behind him is that he was held in statis in one of the ships and was the first slann even older then kroak lol well i ve done it with a brush and a steady hand to be honest but if you want some tips on how to i can maybe make you some videos in the future ? But for the start i can write you how to here: basicly i basecoated him white then made a wash out of rhinox hide (using lahmia something ^^) then i painted him all over with gorthor brown and after that i started to make the paterns with a brush as highlits with baneblade brown, after i made the scaly look i poured alot of water and mixed it with baneblade brown to minimize the dark contrax from the wash i felt it was too dark by at the time and i just painted all over it later on i used a mix of screaming skull , white scar and banebladebrown i dont know what the ratio is for a top highlight i also thined the mix so i could blend over the scales and make that realistic look. And yes the finger pallete is really usefull when you see you have too much color on your brush just use your fingernails hehe And after i ll be done with the scales i ll use the white scar on edges to make the top highlight noo greenstuff used, only free hand painting, but since the model is resin i had to use greenstuff to fill the holes in his throne ... that resin models from GW are teribad , but nevertheles i enjoyed playing around with it
That is a great background concept!! Best of all the model you painted really fits well with that story. He looks ancient and mystique. Are you going to write any fluff pieces for him? That would be cool! Agreed, I really dislike failcast.
