From what I can recal someone said that WHF will be heavily focused in the following months due to 9th edition/AoS, so that makes sense, but something else just occoured to me - the following PC games will also release either this year or next: Isn't it kinda weird that all of these games are to be released so close to each other? I'm NOT saying that we'll see a new mordheim or bloodbowl board game, just that all of these games combined can create more hype surrounding the release of the next edition/version of Warhammer Fantasy. It's clear when you frequent the Total War board that people have questions regarding WHF in general. Thoughts?
It might create some more hype, but some of that may be hindered by the misalignment of the fluff worlds. Age of Sigmar will feature a completely different setting as compared to those games (all of which I believe take place in the old world). As for 2015 being the year of Warhammer Fantasy... that will depend entirely on the level of success or failure of Age of Sigmar. I was surprised and saddened to see that Blood Bowl 2 doesn't feature Lizardmen. Having to wait for DLC sucks!
I actually feel these might hinder each other. Partly because of conflicting backgrounds, but more importantly because most people dont have unlimited funds or simply dont want to spent the money on that many games.
I guess the hope would be to entice new players who might otherwise not be familiar with Wargaming. They might be able to spark an interest amongst gamers coming across these video games. I do agree that the conflicting backgrounds will hinder this process though.
I feel you, mate! This is basically my approach to all warhammer material I encounter. "Is there anything Lizardmen related?" "...no, but it got's this cool [Insert generic character from another of the races]!" "Stop Right there! No lizzies No Ace!" That conversations have been had many times, I have so many other roleplaying activities and hobbies to pay for, plus there's food and rent and such (Silly Rent, happen to be that you have to pay EVERY month ). So if I'm not seeing any scaly lizards chopping heads off other races and riding huge dinosaurs, I really don't care Also waiting for Warhammer: Total war to make the DLC, will also grant the added benefit of actually purchasing the game once it has been playable.
I love the first blood bowl and the expansions, horribly addictive, but so awesome. Won't be picking up a copy if Lizards don't feature though.
From what I have heard Blood Bowl 2 will not feature Lizards at launch. Of course they will be available via DLC no doubt. The 8 races included at launch are as follows...
You could always play Blood Bowl: Chaos Edition. That's got pretty much all the races in (including lizardmen). In fact Blood Bowl 2 is looking like a pretty tough sell given we've got the full game already with Blood Bowl Chaos edition. I think the devs are going down the GW cash cow route
Personally I'm looking forward to Blood Bowl 2 because I can get it on my PS4. I'm not really sure how it compares with Blood Bowl : Chaos Edition. Blood Bowl 2 it will be superior graphically, but I'm not sure how many mechanical improvements will be present.
It would surprise me if there isn't a LM DLC introduced to Blood bowl 2, in which case I will be picking up a copy. I do have blood bowl chaos edition and my Kroxigor is a beast. I called him Tanq, he has +2 strength, block, frenzy, tackle, guard and some other stuff (I think it's the free re-roll).
I'd be surprised as well (and deeply disappointed). The Lizardmen will make an appearance... we just have to wait a little while longer. I wish they were included upon release. I'd much rather have Bretonnia arrive as a DLC and Lizardmen included straight out of the box.
I heard that at E3 this year the BB team officially announced to press that Lizardmen will be out at launch along with one other additional race.
I hope so, they're not always the best for running in touchdowns (saurus I mean). But if your opponent kicks the ball out of play, do the following for utter hilarity. 1. After the ball is kicked out of play and you can choose who has it, give it to the kroxigor. 2. Use his blitz to crush a base contact player and then run up the pitch. 3. Provide support. 4. Laugh as an elf player tries to block him and then gets squashed. 5. Follow with second blitz and then a touchdown. This happened to me, first game against wood elves, Kroxigor blitz injured the elf in his way, ran him up the pitch and to the side, sent in saurus for support. In the elf's turn, after getting as many people as possible into base contact, they tried to block, failed miserably and got injured. Second blitz, injured a third elf and got a touchdown. That game was fun, end of match and I think there was one elf left un-injured.
It's true... Lizardmen are in blood bowl 2... http://ca.ign.com/articles/2015/06/11/blood-bowl-2-release-date-revealed
There is a Brettonian and a Human team. Therefore Brettonians are not human. The fact that they are releasing a lot of WHF video and computer games around the same time they pushed through the literally point-less AoS. I am suspicious that AoS is so simplistic not just because GW wanted a simplified game but because they wanted to push the new edition through quickly.
