    Regarding that note.
Thats probably what I would do if I had received an email which content I would like to show, without exposing myself.

Copy content to the most basic typing editor and print it.

To start with I feel like those Hordes, Mobs... well let's call them Warbands at the end of the PDF are useful for a starting game, they seem like they would be "Balanced" for this. I know, no customization is a bit of a bore, but it might be meant has the starting point. Such that one can learn the game until the campaign comes out and gives us more variation.

Anyone having attempted this to start with? Only these Warbands, as balance of the game....

Haven't done those solely, but I reckon you're onto something so long as the wound caps are set unit-wide and armywide.

Someone on Warseer mentioned wounds + attacks x bravery = points. But I'm not sure a saurus warrior (30pts) is superior to chaos warrior (24pts) or if templeguard (40pts) is superior to chosen (35pts). If you add the host formation we gain another attack so our guys will bump up in price.

Oh and monster/warmachines are double in points so wounds + attacks x bravery x 2.

It frustrates me that it is up to us, the customer, to create balance. But maybe that's what GW was hoping for.

Can a traditional points system even be applied here? The game design is such a radical departure from 8th edition that I've got my doubts. We went from gameplay that was determined by core rules, to gameplay abilities generated by individual units, and they all have different sets of synergistic abilities. How do you enumerate the value of those abilities... especially when any warscroll in the game can be fielded, and not just in the army?

The slot system might be simpler,
    x minimum number of warbands
    x maximum number of hero's
    x maximum number of monsters
x maximum number of other scrolls
not exceeding x number of wounds.

    Sure, why not?

Reaper did it with their skirmish game.
Again, Reaper dealt with such things in their skirmish game.

    Get experience playing.
Develop a sense of which stats are the most important...
Assign the numbers to a weighted formula...

...not saying it will be easy.
    Is this really true?
I thought there is something about Realms or Keywords or Something that forces a player to field lizardmen or chaos warriors but never both on the same side.
    Was that merely a rumour?

Did you mean warscrolls? I have missed the term warband cropping up in these rules.

As of right now, forces can be mixed. It may change eventually in some manner.

The only guidelines that I can find: the models must come from your collection, you must have the warscroll. :p

    "THE ARMIES
Before the conflict begins, rival warlords
    gather their most powerful warriors.
In order to play, you must first muster your
army from the miniatures in your collection.

Armies can be as big as you like, and you can
use as many models from your collection as
    you wish."

    "WARSCROLLS & UNITS
All models are described by warscrolls,
which provide all of the rules for using
them in the game. You will need warscrolls
for the models you want to use.
    "

Aaaand that's all she wrote! So, no limitations at the moment. My guess is that any limitations will allow the Order armies to ally, the Death & Destruction factions to ally, and the Chaos armies to ally.

I just looked at Empire, Skaven and the Lizardmen. The 'flavour' terms vary (host, horde, brotherhood, detachment) but I think the generic term for any of them might be "battalion". Battalion does not show up on our versions but they let it slip on the other two.
