We've been going for 1 hour games, give or take, so that's about 5 to 6 warscrolls. Would like to use my 8 scrolls though (that's all I have so far )
Campaign update: The battle for the realm of fire is nearly over, only 3 uncontested tiles left. If Order wins those 3, we can tie in 1st place with Death. Coming next: The Realm of Life! Here's a wip:
Where did you get the tiles from, Lord Sa'rk? I'd love to have something like that for my gaming group
It should be re-released with the AOS system. Especially since GW wants a more narrative based system for battles. I'm glad you're all having fun with the campaign and I like the look of the "Life Realm" tiles. BTW, do you play with any special rules for fighting in each realm or is it just standard battles?
Yeh, the big book does have some realm specific spells and abilities, but so far only for Fire, Life, and I believe metal as well
Oh btw, another Victory for order today, so the stats are: Death: 10 tiles Destruction: 9, I believe Chaos: 8 Order: 8 And 2 tiles left to conquer.
This looks pretty sweet! And excellent use of Mighty Empires tiles. I was thinking of running that again myself... Assuming I can find more players.
Seems like the Realm of Fire campaign was pretty close. Do we have a tactica for Ogors, theoretical or otherwise? Also, you say that limits are decided between players beforehand. Has this been an issue? Fortunately all my matches have always been cordial, and I haven't had to deal with cheesey lists/RAW vs RAI/cheeky players. Would it be easier with a points system or has it been fine so far?
It's been fine so far. We did have a skaven player that decided to bring a table full of models, but our best Death player put him in his place Update: The battle for the realm of fire is over. 1st place: Death & destruction 2nd place: Order 3rd place: Chaos On to the realm of life!
@Lord Sa'rk Could 2 players use your system, and you refer to a "big book" is that the new AOS rule book?
Second place isn't bad, at least Chaos was put in its place What are the armies involved for each faction? e.g. Order: Seraphon, ...?
My system? About the book, I haven't read it thoroughly mind you, but the rules are exactly the same, it just comes with loads of fluff about the new setting, scenarios, special rules for different realms, stuff like that. But the rules are still the 4 page rules. Hope I don't forget anyone. ORDER: Seraphon (LM), Empire, Brettonia, the 3 races of elf, the tree dudes (treekin I think), Dwarves and the Stormcast. DEATH: Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts and Nagash's dudes. CHAOS: Warriors and Daemons, Beastmen, Skaven, Khorne Bloodbound (New khorne army from the starter box) DESTRUCTION: Goblins, Orcs, Ogres and Trolls
Having never gamed before AOS I have very little knowledge of systems, can your campaign be played by 2 players or is it better with more? So the rule book is worth getting from your point of view? And yes Ogres are deadly especially Maneaters!
That just feels wrong how can my DE army that hates HE now field with them, although I do like what they have done as you can now collect the models you like the look off and fit them into your army. I think DE would have been better in Destruction.
I meant in terms of your campaign, or are you involved in a particularly impressive campaign using all of these? The tree dudes are Sylvaneth, they just got re-packaged last weekend. I was kinda hoping they would release new units as they're all so pretty... *imagines flying dryads with explosive seeds and toxic flowers* I think the idea was that you could have the Elves united under the Eternity King if you wanted (mix and match!) or else field them as separate armies. It doesn't rule out inter-species conflicts/civil wars that way. GW seems keen to generate a greater amount of fluidity in the armies and freedom to the players (and thus selling more models!) Still, agreed - DE are every much a Destruction army to me, even if they're different ideologues to Orks, Ogres etc. I've always viewed the WE as more of a neutral faction however: their fluff is very naval-gazing and isolationist.
It's more fun with lots of players but you can definitely play with 2. If you are enjoying AoS and want to keep playing it, then the book is a good buy. I haven't bought it myself, but just due to my budget lol
Oh sorry, my bad Ok, so far on the campaign we have: Order: 2 LM, a few stormcast, 1 with WE and sylvaneth. Chaos: Hmm, pretty much everything lol Destruction: 2 ogre players Death, not really sure how many players. But one of the best players in the campaign is using VC
I won't be adding HE anyway but were looking at Orcs to field along side the Ogres, I can then play LM and DE against my son and I might actually beat those damn Ogres!
