The sacred spawnings have been well discussed but with this poll we might get a better vieuw on what our players want out of them. I'm pretty sure nobody is against the entry of sacred spawnings. With Small buffs* I mean these ( not so small buffs): Pip Hamilton on the other forum gave a very interesting and good suggestion on how to create spawnings: Tactical Role: Mobile Attack Unit Spawning of the Sun Resplendent: Swiftstride Spawning of the Jaguar Warrior: Ambush Tactical Role: Rough Terrain Fighters Spawning of the Jungle Stalker: Strider(Water, Forest) Tactical Role: Shock Attack Unit Spawning of the Serpent God: Frenzy Spawning of the Dread Hunter: Cause Fear Tactical Role: Dispel Battery Spawning of the Arcane Alignment: The unit may assist dispel attempts as if it were a level 1 wizard. Tactical Role: Anvil Spawning of the Great Protector: Scaly Skin (4+) (note this doesn't let Oldbloods get a 3+ scaly skin!) Spawning of the Inexorable One: Immune to Psychology With Bigger Buffs, as explained I mean buffs that go directly in to statbuffs of our troops: +1 Weapon skill / +1 Attack ( like our skavenpelt banner did, but able to be taken by SW), +1 or even +2 Initiative, +1Movement... So what is the most appealing to you? The direct buff route? ( to stats) The inderect buff route that makes our army more versatile? Choose your pick and explain to us why you would like the spawnings this way! You can always give us a list of sacred spawnings you would like to see so other players can discuss your vieuw on the matter.
I've already explained why I want "small" buffs. IMO swiftstride or ambush isn't a small buff though.
More akin to how I would deem a true hawk warrior or warriors of the jaguar, as in Meso-American warfare. Stealthy hunters that are swift and merciless, running quickly though the jungle, to cut down their foes! Very delightful, very fluffy perhaps; might even be that other races wouldn't deem this the perfect fit for our sauruses, but that's for play testing to decide
I would prefer that the spawnings buff our original statline (WS, A, I, AV) instead of special rules since Saurus really don't need an rules overhaul. The only Special Rule I'd considerfor a spawning at this point is Swiftstride but at the right point cost.
Boost to statistics would be useful as well, but how it's sits with other armies are always my concern. Truthfully I reckon we are the most sceptic of all, by us the players of the LM army themselves, so perhaps this is something that is worth expanding upon. If we should get a boost I would like to see something that still feels true to the concept of our saurus warriors. Not something completely over the top and unnecessary, but what is? I mean If we say +1 Ws, they're just TG without halberds, If we say +1 In that wouldn't really matter much, unless we made the core choice +1 In as well. There is at least a lot of work to be done,for making justice of such a change.
As I said earlier in another thread, I made these threads with little time in hand. Small buffs is the wrong wording, they give our army much more options and versatility! I can't seem to change the poll answers though, so unless someone can help me out the poll answers will be unchanged sadly . The first post explains it better now though, so members have more information on the subject now.
talocofxhotl and I (almost seperately) made some suggestions for spawnings, these where of course for 8th, but some might still work and some might need tweaking, and of course they all need to be tested. I would love to have spawnings, I have always been wanting them since I read the Lizardmen fluff, and I wondered why GW discarded such a great concept.
I went for option 1. I want more direct buffs to our warriors. They were created for war and these special spawnings are even more combat oriented. I would like these sacred spawnings to be done in the following way: points per model taken. This fits better since, they are not a magic banner. And it also doesn't make these sacred spawnings to OP. +2pts per model for +1 attack for example... The more versatile sacred spawning route is a maybe more fun to play though... I'm personally more of a big block army kind of guy and so for me stat buffs are more welcomed .

Nothing have so far been done and nothing of the following should be taken as something that will happen, but just to give you a little insight. There have been some talk about bloodlines, marks and perhaps, maybe, you know.. Sacred Spawnings. One of the team members said that these things should not be rules just to have rules, but to allow for a more diversity and flexibility. It could be a tool to not just add on new units, but to allow for interesting choice with what we already have and switch up the feeling of the army. Giving Saurus Warriors +1WS doesn't change the way they behave. Giving Ambush or strider does. Againg - this doesn't mean that's actually what's going to happen, especially since the AB teams haven't been gathered yet, but just to give you a little insight in the thought process. This doesn't mean that we will be seeing Sacred Spawnings, just the if we were to see them the idea from one of the team members was the above mentioned ^^
Hi. Got an idea while reading through this thread... Could it be that we have different "sizes" of sacredness? Like The big blessing gives you special rules AND a buff to the stats and the small one only affects the special rules... Both with different points obviously... I think that might be a cool thing.
This have very briefly been on the board, but overall it just becomes a bit cumbersome. The rules should be as simple as possible
I don't think it should be too complicated to make a list with two options for each sacred spawn... I imagine it like this: Spawn of old one 1: Simple blessing: Unit or character gain the xy special rule... X points Great blessing: Unit or character gain special rule xy AND add 1 to their xy stats... X plus Y points. Quite simple I think... Ok you might need a whole page of an AB instead of a half but I think that's quite ok.
Slowly but surely these threads are going to the bottem of the page. Sacred spawnings 9th, saurus warriors 9th and bastiladons 9th. What came out for the saurus warriors and the bastiladons is that most of us want to see them changed in some way. The saurus warriors however could be changed with sacred spawnings. Sacred spawnings is a total tie in how people want to see them come into fruition. Albe it small votings for now... the idea behind the threads was to get the opinion of the members of lustria online and pass them on to the 9th age creators. Since our man their is @Pinktaco... Can you show them our replies to the polls that were created? Cheers
I do know these polls suggest somewhat even more buffs to our troops and with the magic banner we already have a solid upgrade for saurus... but then again we can only make suggestions . I'm guessing other armies are doing the same... thx again Pinktaco .
