So as you may or may not know I like AOS and with the launch of the new Battletome I am very excited about painting my Seraphon again this has brought me a problem with my bases, do I rebase to round and if so how painful will it be changing 100+ models over.

Now I have decided to change to round and this is my idea,

I'm going to paint all the bases brown first, sprayed all over then PVA glue and then 4mm static grass applied using a Flockbox to get the grass to stand up, this will give the effect of my Seraphon emerging out of long grass (I hope) and that's the base done, large models will have some Jungle plants thrown in here and there.

Now I know they are not in the Jungle/Lustria anymore but the battles would still be fought on moorland, fields etc and I would not expect them to be nicely trimmed and mowed.

Hopefully I will post one or two test models later this week for your scrutiny and comments

Might want to add a little sand under all that tall grass.

Sounds like a massive job, other than that I agree with that a little sand below the grass could most probably help. If you use one colored that match the grass, it does not even need to be painted.

Though, have you considered making round bases yourself in plywood, that you can put the square bases into? And connect them by a magnet. That would give you the best of both worlds, i.e. ability to play with round and square. Would be a bit of work though...

The round bases are not big enough to completely encompass the old square bases. The corners of the squares pierce the circle.

Had a quick count last night and it's near 200 models to rebase, this project may have to wait while I finish painting other models.

Ever feel like you have bitten off more than you can chew!

Wise decision. According to the number of models. And you can try the basing on the new models before you start the main work.
