Wait....that +1 save for saurus guard. Didn't they already have that ability? If within 8 of a hero So that was a mistake or can these guys go +2 save?!
Book breakdown 31 pages on individual units -- pretty much 8th edition length minus rules per unit 6 pages on color schemes via 2D sketches 14 pages on painted models by 'Eavy Metal 25 pages on battleplans/scenario narrative 39 pages on unit warscrolls + tips/hints from AoS starter 7 pages on battalions 4 pages on the rules rest on content-separating pictures / table of contents / etc. Expect full-page or half-page pictures everywhere. Format is very much like a National Geographic with tabloid-sized paragraphs Lots of blue/purple and blue/red lizards Judging by how the current Stormcast/Khorne Bloodbound currently do not have battalion warscrolls, I feel like the battletome is almost a necessity rather than a handy extra. Kinda hoping they put a new pdf with all the units compiled together again.
This is the new Battallion ability called "Drakescale Shieldwall." Guard still have "Sworn Guardians" ability.
I think I am going to get aome mileage out of that Starbeast constellation! Haha! If anyone will let me play it! If not I will be okay with stomping them unto stardust with the eternal starhost!
I really want to do the Starbeast Constellation, but one; is the table at the workshop big enough and two; I don't think anyone at the place has a huge amount of models, I think....
What do you mean by Stormcast/Khorne Bloodbound do not have battalion warscrolls? They do in their Battletome and on purchase in the app (in the battlepack section, Seraphon is in there also)
Holy shit this formations are all good! Specially when convined with the sinergies we allready have! D3 damage on a 3 atack temple guard model with a 1 up save ( i am thibking you can at least cast a mistic shield ) I almost feel bad fielding this
I meant for free. Kinda looks like the current battalions for armies without battletomes are stopgaps.
so i guess all current hosts or packs etc for all armies will eventually be replaced. Cause some are very close to worthless lol
I think that's the concept behind the whole thing... Warscrolls for unit are free but if you want more please buy the battletome... Just a way to make money.
The PDF is still Lizardmen on the GW website but they are no more so it has to be replaced by a Seraphon one.
Yeah, it is weird now. I do not know whether the old battalions are legal now, and if not, it is kinda weird how they are retconning them. Agree with the whole money-making deal; just think they should have had some freebies even if they were bad ones.
Coinvidentally already had the requirements for the Eternal Starhost, which is my favourite. Wound up buying another Stegadon so I could use the Thunderquake Starhost. Now holy shit, my two defensive bellends, the TG and the Bastiladon, don't need Mystic Shield to get their 2+ save, meaning I can spend the saved spells on something else. This is awesome! Side note as I saw this topic get mentioned briefly, seeing as how the rules for the units are totally free officially and legally, I have no problem with the paywall for the Battalions. It's only fair seeing as we're getting the much more important rules for free.
It was mentioned because the old Saurus Host battalion does not exist in the new book and was seemingly replaced by the Sunclaw Starhost and Eternal Starhost. While it is not a huge issue, it would be nice to know whether or not they invalidated the old documents instead of playing rule limbo.
