I’m basically a new (new-again) Warhammer/Age of Sigmar Lizardmen/Seraphon player from Texas. I played a lot of Bretonians in 5th edition and then took a long break (like 2.9 editions long) until right around maybe three or four months before Age of Sigmar was announced. I actually got back into Warhammer because of Lizardmen. When I was first thinking of getting back into the game rumors were flying around about GW discontinuing lizards altogether and I kinda took a gamble on that not really happening and bought into all cheap second hand stuff people were getting rid of at the time. Anyways, I’ve always been a fan of this website. The community here seems really solid and I’ve always loved the painting logs and conversions. I just figured it was finally time to check in and say howdy.

Hey, thanks guys, I really appreciate the warm welcome! Also, I do intend to start a painting log and although I do kinda like the idea of starting with a giant pile of all the stuff I picked up here and there that also sounds like kind of a chore to dig everything out - a lot of it's been packed out of the way here and there and a good portion of it's still on the sprue in plastic grocery bag's or in shoe-boxes. To tell you the truth though I am really motivated to get some things done right now Warhammer wise. I'm participating in a long-ish term AoS league soon and I'd like to get a good portion of my basic stuff at least somewhat presentable. I'll have a long day at my internship tomorrow but then Thursday I should be able to get to work finishing some mini's and I really will try to get some progress pics posted for people to you know..throw rotten fruit at, make fun of, etc.
Posting pics of painting is good. I don't paint Fantasy models much anymore (I do 40k stuff since fantasy ceased), but I like to see people's work.
I hear ya. AoS is def an acquired taste I think. Still, all my Lizards are going on square bases regardless. There's plenty of people out here that play 8th and when I get things more or less put together properly I'll probably still have the opportunity to play a healthy mix of both for awhile longer it looks like.
That's the best move: 'cause you can play AoS with square bases, but it's much harder to play 8th with rounded ones...
Oh for sure. I mean, even with 8th being played less there's a ton of different things you can do with the Lizardmen line of models right now. I haven't looked into 9th age very much but I know quite a few people that are at least interested in King's of War. I love having options.
it IS a great avatar. I really appreciated the suggestion. I haven't actually gotten to watch the movie yet but I really do plan on checking it out sometime soon.
