Ahh bugger I forgot to look! I'm going away tonight but I'll see if I can find another store whilst away or I'll just send a message to the manager of my local store and ask him.
I actually uploaded the same picture as previously posted! Ha! Swapped it over to the right one now which shows the full table more clearly.
I'm not going to lie, your (possible) return to AoS is the greatest disappointment is the introduction of AoS. Look at KoW... so shiny... so strategic... so smart. You know you want to play it. Time is limited, invest it wisely. Resistance is futile. or You don't want to play AoS (*waves hand like a Jedi) I can see that this is going to be a shoulder angel vs. shoulder devil sort of thing between you and I.
I think neither of us can claim angel, but close enough! KOW is shiny, strategic and smart. In fact @NIGHTBRINGER you and the mrs. should give it a try. Give us a review. But then again AOS with points and narrative play and all new scenarios is shiny, strategic and smart. While you may not want to try it, @Crowsfoot and Archie may want to give it a shot. They already have the basics of the system down, now to add more elements to keep it interesting!
Fair point. 8th Edition > 9th Age > KoW > All other games > AoS Of course I'm only kidding around. Since they have already an interest in AoS and have derived enjoyment from it; it would make perfect sense to give the new stuff a go*. *Please note, that from here on out, I will forever deny that I made the claim above. It must have been hackers!
Well about 90% of my models are multi based now so to play AOS I would have to use my Orruks or Goblins, I do have some Seraphon still single based but no infantry so I guess that will play a big part in what we do.
Not sure if its been mentioned but Lord Kroak is 540 points, and Ripperdactyls are 140 for 3. Played a game last night with the "rule of 1" it was wierd only having 6 max hits from rippers and only one arcane bolt but it was still fun. Wish I knew more of the point values for my units and for my opponents (slyventh) to see how close we were. We both used a Battalion shadowstrike for me and no clue what his was called lol.
I'm a little puzzled here. What is going on with the rippers? I've obviously missed something? I only got mine last week and I was incredibly pleased with ripping apart my friends unit of swordmasters of hoeth whist he broke down into tears. Mmm Elven tears are the sweetest.
In pitched battles, there are the "rules of one". The rule that nerf rippers, is: an additional attack cannot generate further additional attacks (or "an attack can only generate one additional attack"). At most, a unit of 3 rippers with 9 beaks attacks, will do a max of 18 attacks.
Well that sucks. We have one nice unit for dealing massive alpha and they go and nerf them. maybe I just won't tell my friends about this rule
I was reading the Generals handbook last night - looks interesting - Am I allowed to post pictures here or is that against the rules?
Think to poor beastmen. With Bullgor Stampede, with each wound roll of 6+ they were used to generate TWO additional attacks, and so on, so on...
I didn't see anything in the book towards summoning. It very much struck me as a book that would enable you to build an army rather than a set of rules for playing the game. It has been designed specifically to be fleshed out by a comp pack. Rules and restrictions on things like summoning will be included in the comp Or at least that is what I read - It's entirely possible I missed a paragraph or two.
