So I've bought a unit of Skink archers, but I noticed in Seraphon that they now have boltspitters. I decided that I'd just say that archers are boltspitters, and use them. But then I saw that skink boltspitters often had clubs, and not shields. I first decided to give my skink boltspitters shields, because with their defense of 6 the shield would be pretty handy against -1 rend units. Since it would allow me to roll 6 and save on the defence. Whereas if they had rend I could not roll save against it at all (is that right?) if the skink boltspitters had clubs. Are there two types of skinks: javalins with shields, and boltspitters with clubs? Or can you mix it? (in my case pretend to mix it). And is it possible to save against a attack on a 6 regardless of the defense? Or not?
You can have : Javelins and Shield Boltspitters and Shield Or Boltspitters and Club. I recommend the Boltspitters and Shield because you don't really want them in combat.
Got it! Thanks I will keep those 40 archers Boltspitter and shield then And if your armor is 6, and someone has rend, all his attacks will automaticall hit right?
Your skinks ignore -1 rend so if the rend is 1 you still get the 6 save. If the rend is 2 or more then you get no save.
Oh, and I also have some skink figures that have both spears and clubs. Does that mean they get two attacks?
Not quite, given the description you will have to choose which one and ensure that your opponent knows which you plan on using.
Well I mean that I have models of the new skinks, carrying both blowpipes and clubs. After I announce that they do, do those units get 2 attacks? (all same models)
