Celestial Hurricanum is a great target for curseof fates. That extra control can be huge, d3 to a d6 could be a game changer in some cases.
Yes. I always cast it on the hurricanum + reroll the d6 whn it shows a 3 or less And the hound is a must in my list. My whole backline is so squishy :O /edit i finished my Stegadon right now. Damn our monsters look so epic tomorrow i post some pics of my coversions. I builded some chameleons and a assassin out of normal skinks
I think Hurricanum is starting to be the new Kroak... (at the beginning of AoS, we were crazy for kroak-bomb, buffed with Astrolith bearer. Now we're discovering how much overpowered the hurricanum has become, with that simple sostitution of the words "free people" with "order" in the "Portents of Battle" text...)
Haha true story. I have an eye on the skink chief. He can give a skink Unit (Bastiladon) +1 hit. Combined with Hurricanum its +2. for me thats pretty nice. Or isnt he worth the 60 points? Think about ripperdactyls with +2 to hit and reroll 1's :O incredible amount of attacks
Here some pics of my (wip) cham. skinks + assassin. And here the final list for my first 2k game: Shadowstrike Starhost 120 Skink Starpriest 100 5 Chameleon Skinks 120 10 skinks 80 3 Ripperdactyls 140 Assassin 80 Star Seer 160 Loremaster 100 2x 10 Skinks 160 1 Gryph Hound 40 Stegadon 260 Bastilladon 300 Hurricanum 320 =1980
Those conversions look amazing! The fact that you have a couple in brilliant little set pieces is amazing! This list looks pretty killer too! But I am blown away by your chamelons!
Yeah...i edited the title. I will use this thread for pictures of my army and battlereports in the future i plan 2-3 games per week and i want to visit a few tournements in the future
For my List: Shadowstrike Starhost 120 Skink Starpriest 100 5 Chameleon Skinks 120 10 skinks 80 3 Ripperdactyls 140 Assassin 80 Star Seer 160 Loremaster 100 2x 10 Skinks 160 1 Gryph Hound 40 Stegadon 260 Bastilladon 300 Hurricanum 320 =1980 I can swap the gryph hound (40pts) for a skink Chief (60pts) and have exactly 2k pts. What do you think? How good is the hound ?
The hound is great, the skink chief is a brilliant little general for a skink list. Problem is... I can't read. Edit: Here's an alternate list. Maybe switch the steg out for 20 more skinks and some chameleons squishy but lots of great shooting.
my doubt with the list, while I love the theme, is... will you have enough staying power or damage if someone has the ability to quick get out the stegadon or hurricanum? I love the hurricanum, but I can't find space to add him in as it's him or 15 temple guard, which are indeed tougher and have a higer damage output once in CC. If it's for fun sounds great, competitive-wise, I think it could come into some trouble against some things.
mh...i dont know. But you have the alphastrike with 3 ripperdactyls, 5 chamo skinks and the assassin + the Support from the rest. So you can take out, cannons, bolt throwsers etc. which are the only units who can take out the Monsters quick enough. But lets see tomorrow how they perform /edit i did not have any templeguards but on paper they look amazing. In the eternal starhost with warden, supportet by a priest. Sounds pretty strong next thing i will buy /edit2 : that brings to me to a question: when i cast the sisters of thorn spell on them (eternal starhost) then they have an 2+ rerollable Save and on 4+ the enemy gets a mortal wound? :O
Welcome to the world of high powered combo. just beware mortal wounds, you DON'T WANT to face a spiderfang mob.
We should chat about some of the strategies going on: The alpha strike squad (Ripperdactyl's, Cham Skinks, Assassin) would want to focus on the counter to your list. If your list includes temple guard, mortal wounds counters your list. If your list is about hero synergy (skink priest rerolls, eternity warden buff temple guard, sunblood buffing warriors, EoTG in ThunderQuake starhost grants all the healing and rerolls) then I would think you want to counter enemies sniping your heroes. If the enemy is a horde army (daemons, goblins, warherd, bonesplitterz, some Skaven) Then you need to position your lines to maximize your damage and minimize the models they can get in base contact with. Also, it's hard to kill an entire hord before it reaches our hurricanum, so you need to tarpit it with your own blob. If the enemy has an alpha strike list via deep strike/storm cast eternal lightning strike, (or ther Seraphon Shadowstrike)(Some Skaven can teleport assassin across board) you either need the hound/dog to counter that, even then some retributors/prosecutors will live. You need to position very carefully by bubble wrapping your important units with battleline. If the enemy alpha strike list is ranged focus (hurricanum, Dwarven cannons, Skaven Warmachines, Stormcast Archers) you need to position your key targets out of line of sight in case they get first turn before you get your reroll abilities. Use terrain and big models like Stegadon/Bastiladon to Line-of-Sight your starseer/loremaster. You can't really LoS the hurricanum. In the skink heavy list Killer Croc recently posted: Spoiler The skinks die in droves in melee, you that list really needs to out maneuver and focus down units one at a time or risk the entire army over run in melee. However the Skinks can keep retreating, even if you just leave a line of them in front of your key targets, your opponent physically can't charge the others until skinks are moved.
