Blog Beardy Gekko's random assortment of things

So yeah...I've not been very active for a while have I? Two good reasons for that being a new baby boy called Darwin and moving home, which has been a massive pain in the gizzard.

So in spite of these things I have been buying rather than painting, only issue being they aren't lizards! I have some new (old) eldar and some empire models.

I'll stick em here for want of a better place!

Going to hopefully do my striking scorpions in a similar style to the pic attached, I also want to paint them with invisible uv paint so they flouresce in uv light.

I always loved the striking scorpions! They are the coolest looking eldar in my opinion, kinda like the Predator aliens except even more stealthy...

Also your idea of using special paint to make them glow would look really cool! Made me think of this picture...

Stop it you keep telling me there is a predator like faction in 40k ill have to get there and make that army...

And then they would have to fight the Imperial Guard Catachan jungle fighters who are basically a combination of Arnold in that move plus Rambo
 
I actually don't like the newer predator like models! That's why I went with classic ones. :p But yeah, inspired by real scorpions and their weird reaction to UV.

I also plan on making a wave serpent transport that is more striking scorpion themed.
 
Finally put together and primed my Carnosaur Yesterday, man that is a beautiful kit and well designed too.

Once again I have been absent too long, just had my 30th birthday and have lots of new things to paint (or not as is usually the case) but today I have been doing a Genestealer from my shelved copy of Space Hulk, really enjoyed this fella, needs a little work still but i'm happy with him.
 
Yep, the gene stealer looks great so far, I still need to paint my space hulk set :p.
Also happy spawn day, you´ll soon become a scar veteran!

Thanks very much! I am happy with the overall effect, the Blood Angel helmet took a while to get right but I think it contrasts nicely with the rest of the model.
 
Genestealer looks really good,can't find anything to crit.
