That was my very first conversion, and it is a starseer, he's not painted very well but people seem to like him cause he's different. I'll snap some better pics of him when I'm off work
Here some shots of my oldest conversion, there's a lot of things about this model that bug me, like I defs have to fix the one eye, and highlight the stone and floating earth. One day I'll get around to it Also bonus carnosaur wip with swappable saurus
Looks great to me! If parts of it bug you, that's probably a good thing because it's likely because you skills have further improved since then.
So I haven't made any progress on anything this week since I've been busy with work and Christmas stuff. But I was wondering if anyone had any experience with painting a dread saurian? After seeing an amazing one on tumblr I decided I need one in my life, but the kit is massive and I'm kind of nervous painting something that catches people's attention so easily. Is this something way out of my league or is it possible to make such an impressive kit look decent without being an amazing painter?
Well... Looking at your carnosaur I'd say try to get one for Christmas! Ok... Maybe a little too late for that... But I think you should just give the dread saurian a go... Maybe just get the model and wait a while/half a year before you start painting, if you're not sure. (like I did with my bastiladon) But it's always good to have a model at hand if you feel ready to paint it...
This is one extraordinary looking model ! Would you please tell me how did you make it ?? I ll be following your thread, your army seems a really interesting one !
Thanks haha, he's a skink priest from the troglodon kit, with the head from the stegadon skink chief and a bow cobbled together from the extra stegadon bits left over from the engine of the gods kit, the quiver and arrow are also from the stegadon kit as well. Basically if you buy a carno kit and build one of the carnosaur, and then buy an engine of the gods kit and build the engine, then you'll have all the parts you need to build this guy
A new Skink will be added to my arsenal once I grab the bits. A wonderful model, and your paint jobs are excellent!
I got some green stuff for Christmas, so there should be many more conversions in the near future, providing I can figure out how to sculpt with this stuff. Seriously it blows me away that people can sculpt what they do with this medium, it seems so unforgiving. I managed to convert some chameleons last night out of some skirmishers I had laying around. I wanted them to be crestless and have their tails curling the proper way round. I've got 4 more that I'll take some pics of when I get home from work tonight
